For your name being AntiSnob, this post is about as snobby as you can make it.

Cotstache interviewed Keiper and he thought he might be converted into a Fullback like a Lorenzo Neal -
Re: jason scales
if any of you guys have seen or read Friday night lights, his situation reminds me of boobie miles. When they were in high school, both were seen as the next Heisman winner. Both were injured and were never the same after that.
The difference is that Scales had other options if he lost his ability to play football. He had a 3.6 GPA so he had means to do other things in life besides go pro. Boobie on the other hand wasn't very bright and saw football as his ticket out to a life making minimum wage.

Re: jason scales
He just never impressed me when I watched him play at ISU. Great team player however and he could have quit or transferred a lot of times and never did. I really like seeing that kind of loyalty especially in this what have you done for me lately world....

Re: jason scales
As said before, the injuries did him. The bottom line is when you blow your knee out, you lose speed. Period. He blew his knee out twice. The kid did what was needed of him, and did what he could. Anyone who rips on this kid for his football career is a ****** bag.

Re: jason scales
You seriously think everyone thought he was the next heisman winner?
Injuries plagued him or he could have been a great contributer to the team.

Re: jason scales
Wasn't big enough, wasn't fast enough, and probably not resiliant enough. Other than that he was ok. It is the BIG 12 for Gods sake.

Why else would you come back from all those injuries to play. Seemed like a pretty tough minded guy to me.

Re: jason scales
Uh because he hurt his knee and he was way too slow. Oh yeah, he even had a neck roll his last year.

Re: jason scales
One of my favorite cyclones in recent memory.
He just wasn't the same after the injuries. He was still a great player, and he played quite a bit because he did things in the backfield that nobody else could do. He just seldom made it very far out of the backfield.
He gave ISU his all, and took everything in stride. I wish we had a whole team made up of (healthy!) guys with the resiliency and attitude that Jason had.

Yeah but you could say Scales would have an easier time running the ball in the Big 12 because most of the schools in that conference have an atrocious run defense.

Injured back + bad blocking probably doesn't usually lead to a guy putting up huge numbers.
