Too bad on Eatman, no way he doesnt end up an OL. Not too worried about the QB, i didnt see him having much of a future here.

crap- i was hoping we could land eatmon and his quarterback
buddy-why doesn't rhoads hire earl bruce back for 30,000 a year and make him our recruiting coordinator. put him in a car with bleil and let him bring home some bacon to ames from ohio.i bet earl would make one helluva recruiting coordinator and would help us close some deals on some good midwest athletes.earl was always one of the best promoters we have ever had at iowa state.

Re: 2010 Offers Thread
New offer;
TY SCOTT, DB, Palmetto
Has been overshadowed by other area defensive backs, but the 6-foot-2, 197-pounder may be the most physical defensive back in Manatee County. Has the quickness to cover speedy receivers and toughness to move up and stop the run. He was a ball hawk for the Tigers last year with 52 solo tackles (65 total) and four interceptions. Has offers from Iowa State, Michigan State, Nebraska and Indiana.

Re: 2010 Offers Thread
We're getting our butt kicked by Utah in recruiting, 5 of our offers have committed there with Perry Jackson today.
We better beat them in Ames on a year from today!

Re: 2010 Offers Thread
I'm thinking its going to take a few recruiting classes to get where we want to be.
It took McCarney how many years? It sucks, and its depressing, but I'm willing to bet it won't take Rhoads as long. Steady improvement is all I ask for. Bad part is when get OU, TX, and TT the next two years so we are going to have to be tough in the North if we want to increase our "W" column.
Rhoads will get who we need to get for the spread in order to improve.

Re: 2010 Offers Thread
Maybe this has been discussed but...can someone explain to me why we are in on 1,234 CB's and LB's every fall and summer and yet rarely get any Dline or Oline recruits until around February?
Seriously, does anyone else notice this? You can't go a week w/o checking rivals and seeing some cornerback on the front page. What's up?

Every coach will tell you that DL is the toughest position to recruit. If you are a good Dlineman, you can almost have your pick of schools. CPR commented on this on Monday night on the call in show.

CPR commented on this on Monday night on the call in show. If they are smart, they'll take a look at ISU. We have playing time to offer and we'll be playing Texas and OU over the next two years. That means we'll be on TV and we have had plenty of DLs who have made the NFL over the last several years.
