If you would really be happy with 2 wins, you're not a real fan. I think that we all want more than 2 wins. But I guess, if we had to have two wins, iowa and Nebraska would be better than SDSU and Kent St. Either way it's a bad season...we just wouldn't have to hear about it from rival fans that way.

Does anyone know why Christopher Lyle didn't play in the game? Was he hurt or maybe grades? I was hoping to see him play.

If we win six games next season, Rhodes should be coach of the year. I know we were close in a lot of games last fall, but winning a close game is the hardest thing to do in football. Your guys have to beat their guys when it counts...and usually the team with the better players makes the plays. If our O-line beat Colorado's D-Line last year on the final play, A-rob would have been in and we win. But when it came down to our guys blocking their guys for a two yard gain we couldn't get it done. The better team one.
I think there is room for improvement, and I really like the new staff and the team's enthusiasm...but we just don't have the players to win six games. I think 4-8, 2-6 would be a good year. Hopefully we can get a "signature" win and the coaching staff can develop a reputation for quality, hard-nosed football, and recruiting will start to bloom.
We have some exciting players and should play some fun games, I am excited for football but not expecting any miracles. To me, that's a little pessimistic. They played all spring without what I feel is their best OL in Haughton. Saturday, they tried Lamaak at LT and he had some trouble with Maggitt, who is probably our best pure pass rusher. Big deal. When Haughton comes back, Lamaak moves inside and either he or Stephens play center. On D, they are missing some depth. But they do have two JUCOs coming and Lyle was out Saturday. Not to mention they could have some true FR play some on D.
I think that this team is capable of 6-6, but that's the upper end with 4-8 being the lower end. To get to 6-6, they are going to have to win some swing games. And they HAVE to cut down the points that the D gives up. If they can knock off 10ppg given up and get down to 25-27ppg, they are going to be in just about every game outside of OSU. 27ppg is not even a good defense. But it would be good enough to get us to 6-6. It starts with being in the right place (something the previous staff didn't teach very well) and having good tackling form. These are things that our staff emphasizes. Also, Sims has really solidified the defensive backfield. All 4 starters at DB, 2/3 LBs, 1DE and NG are Big XII players. The rest need to step their game up and we'll be just fine.

Thats a bigger deal than many people think...

I would guess there is many more fans in this camp vs those that don't like him.

I don't think I've come across 1 Cyclone fan who didn't like Tiller. What's not to like? He stays out of trouble, has worked hard, and is a great QB prospect.
Gotta love the interweb.

He's already redshirted, so he'd be wasting a year of eligibility. I would think that the coaches will find a way to get him on the field for a series or two a game this fall and whenever the game is out of reach one way or the other. He is pretty much guaranteed to be a two year starter at ISU. The only way he sees more guaranteed time somewhere else is if he is transferring to a non-BCS school.
