    Lorenzo White OL

    Darren Davis RB

And for sentimental or wild card performer you have to go with "Marvelous" Marv Seiler.

I also believe Ty Stewart was the best kicker for ISU of all time, I mean the guy was automatic and our only offense for a couple of years. He's also a helluva golfer and a great guy to play 18 at Veenker with.

Also another question, what offense are we running? Single-Wing, Wing T, Wishbone, Triple Option, Spread, Pro-Style, etc. Iowa State has employed I believe almost every style of of offensive scheme over the years.

Meyer shouldn't be on the list, Rosenfels was better. Blythe and Danielson are starting recievers. Moser, Hobbs, and Paris are all in the backfield. Those guys weren't the most talented but they worked there butts off day in and day out.

My pick for PK is Tom Goedgen. I believe he missed one PAT his entire career at ISU. Coach has to be Earl Bruce.

OK, I'm ancient, but Mighty Moe Nichols and Tommie Watkins from anoter era need to be in there.

    Re: All-Time Iowa State Team...

    Brett Who?

QBs - Sage, Seneca, David Archer, George Amundson (also a running back at ISU and the pros), Tim Van Galder, Dean Carlson,

TE - Keith Krepfle, Pat Curran, Al Dixon, Mike Busch, Dan Johnson, Mike Banks

A good list of ISU NFL players is here http://www.pro-football-reference.co...st/drafted.htm

However that list does miss players like DB Larry Crawford who was a CFL all star in 83, 84, 86, 87.

    Re: All-Time Iowa State Team...

Who honestly thinks Lane Danielson is one of our best WR's?!?! No way

    I could probably name 10 better....in fact I will

    Todd Blythe
    JJ Moses
    Luther Blue
    Ike Harris
    Otto Stowe
    Tracy Henderson
    Damion Groce
    Tyrone Watley

Ok that is only 8. But you gotta see the differences in style of play from when some of those guys played and when Lane Danielson played. We threw the ball twice as much as thus some of his stats

    Todd Blythe
    Luther Blue
    Tracy Henderson
    JJ Moses
    Lane Danielson
    Damion Groce
    Tyrone Watley

Lane was an interesting combination of a lot of different styles. Tough, Intelligent, somewhat speedy. Not a great possession receiver, yet he could still be counted on to make a difficult catch. Certainly not a finesse guy. He probably wouldn't have been as much of a threat had it not been for Jack Whitver being the possession guy.

Todd Doxzon was actually a 4 year starter at Quarterback (1993-1996 seasons). It was his tryout with...I think it was the New York Giants... at Wide reciever that ultimately landed him a job in the NFL abck at his QB position. His 40 time of 4.1 seconds flat was timed twice. He played at least one season listed as the second string QB backup to Dan Marino. Because of Marino's durability, he never saw a snap in a NFL pro regular season game.

It is MY contention that Troy Davis would not have been as successful as he was without:
    1. Patrick Agufa, an offensive lineman with an exceptionally long and stocky body and short legs that allowed him to leverage just about anyone enough so that he could create a seam for Troy, OR pile in with Troy and help him drive the pile an extra 5 yards.
2a. The seldom used threat of speed from Todd Doxzon (he was known to be fast, but no one in the public knew about the 4.1 second 40 until the NFL scouts timed him).
2b. though Todd Doxzon was signed to ISU as a wishbone QB, he occaisionally had shown some accuracy passing.

I suppose we could look at only success at Iowa State instead of success in the Pros.

    However, looking at Pro Stats/success:
QB - David Archer, then Sage then Seneca (archer leads due to number of starts and total yards, though Sage has probably had more success and will likely surpass Archer's yards this year).
RB (fullback, halfback, tailback) - Tony Baker, Tom Watkins, Mike Strachan, Dwayne Crutchfield then Troy Davis (although, this does not count Davis's yards in the CFL)
WR - Jim Doran, Ike Harris, Hal Crisler, Otto Stowe
TE - Keith Krepfle, Pat Curran, Al Dixon, Dan Johnson

Mike Stensrud is a no brainer, though where you put him (offense or defense) depends on if you're looking at Pros or ISU.

Most of us know of the stature of Matt Blair. I think Stensrud and Krepfle are nearly as great.

    Re: All-Time Iowa State Team...

Alex Espinosa should be in the discussion. Dwayne Crutchfield and Blaise Bryant after the davis boys. The best reciever I have ever seen in an Iowa State uniform is Tracy Henderson.
