An 8 team play-off using the 4 BCS bowls as the first round with the semi's and finals following the next two weeks makes sense. It would produce a true national champion like every other sport does, even college football at the other levels. The other bowls would retain the same significance they have now, which is little except for the team's fans and conference pride. The regular season would be just as important for the top teams to get to the first round of 8 and the other teams to make a bowl. More money would be made by all. I guess it makes too much sense so with the NCAA in control it probably won't happen. Imo the prez and congress should put pressure on the NCAA to do what the large majority of Americans want to see, a d-1 football play-off.
