TarHeelHawk...
It's funny, I don't know what it is about the Iowa fans I know, but so many of them seem to have that "fall back" team.

Two favorite teams, the Cyclones, and whoever is playing the Hawkeyes! -

You are an even bigger idiot than I suspect if you think the game being played in Ames has, and I'm quoting you directly here, "absolutely no impact on who wins the game this year". It's no guarantee ISU wins by any stretch, but to act like it's irrelevant is ignorant. Nope, didn't say that, or imply that in any way, shape or form. The game is played on the field, not in the stands. Sure the ISU team and fans will be fired up as usual, but nothing that happens in the stands is going to impact how the game turns out.
Calm down.

Calm down. If you think a crowd and homefield advantage never helps a team, you're an... well I've been to Kinnick, it does suck, so I get where you as a Hawk are coming form.

That isn't what I said; is reading comprehension a skill that is lacking on this board? I said that ISU (the team) will no doubt be fired up by playing their arch-rival on their home field, and so will the fans. Thats it.

Calm down. So you don't believe in home-field advantage? If so, I have roughly 100 years of stats in nearly every sport to prove you wrong.

Iowa's 15 game winning streak ended over a decade ago..... Let it go man.... I can let it go as long as you can let go of the 5 game winning streak ISU had that ended almost a decade ago. Since that ended Iowa is 4-2 against ISU yet ISU fans continue to say 7 out of 11.
How relevant are the two streaks that ended 12 years ago or one that ended 7 years ago. It is time for both fan bases to let them go. I would say we will probably never see another winning streak by either team of 5 games let alone 15 games again.

I think you can put any numbers the way you want them to make your team look good if you're Iowa OR Iowa State. If you step back and just look at things as a whole, it's clear Iowa's dominance is over and this series will be back and forth now, which I think creates for a greaty healthy rivalry.
Remember that stressed spelled backwards is desserts!

Not when the team who has that advantage has a new coaching staff, and a swiss cheese defense, no I don't. Homefield wasn't exactly an advantage for Iowa State last year. If Cyclone fans are pinning their hopes on a victory over Iowa solely on the game being in Ames, I like Iowa's chances.
