    WHAT!!!

Eugene Jarvis will test ISU's defense and the trip to Kent State won't be a gimme. And new Army coach Rich Ellerson will bring 6-10, 283-pound wide receiver Ali Villanueva
    Thats crazy.

i doubt he'll be able to move very well, even then, all you have to do is hit him in the legs and he'll go down

Before he catches the ball? I could see a LOT of jump balls thrown his way if he can jump at all.

    Re: WHAT!!!

Can this guy go across the middle? If so we may be in trouble, we let undersized wideouts do that with out even hitting them. This guy could potentially kill our zone inside and out.

    Re: WHAT!!!

Interesting, he's got a lot to work on though it appears.
Army football: Can 6-foot-10 WR catch on? | Varsity845U.com

One problem. Villanueva has never played wide receiver. Before last week, he'd never run a fade route or a corner pattern in his life.
Enter Andy Guyader, Army's wide receivers coach. Villanueva said Guyader is "his caddie," through the learning process.
"He's in uncharted territory for how big and long somebody trying to play the position is," Guyader said. "Not all the technique works for him that works for 99 percent of the other people I've coached."

    Re: WHAT!!!

I'm glad they are coming here, that should be fun to watch in person.

Like CyDude said, Army is a run-first offense, and if I remember correctly from a telecast of one of last year's game (it may have been Navy), they don't even practice throwing the ball a whole lot.

    Re: WHAT!!!

So he's a big TE with a WR tag. What's the big deal? We've played against 6-8 TE's before.

If he does indeed play WR for them it may actually help us. You pretty much don't have to worry about getting burnt deep by a 283lb WR. That will allow for more help against the run.

I wouldn't put many things past our secondary after what I saw out there last season

Seems to me we generally get torched by TE's too.

That was a knock on Danny Mac - didn't realize the TE was an eligible receiver, wouldn't throw to him on O, wouldn't cover him on D.
