Rivals Interview with Rhoads
Excellent article written by Rivals. Rhoads really divulges a little more information on how he recruits and how he sells ISU. CycloneReport.com - Rhoads tackles first big obstacle at Iowa State -

Good God- I'm ready to commit. Too bad I'm not a prospect.

Re: Rivals Interview with Rhoads
If he coaches half as well as he speaks we're going to be very fortunate. It's impossible not to root for him. Some of my best friends that are UofI grads even like the guy.

Re: Rivals Interview with Rhoads
Between this article and the Spring Game Mic'd Up video, I can see why players really like PR. No doubt he will be able to have the guys playing their hearts out, but I hope the talent level continues to increase as well. Man I am excited for the season!! Go State!

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -
Re: Rivals Interview with Rhoads
This is actually an awesome article--lots of indepth bits and pieces that you don't see anywhere else.
And for those, "You HAVE to sign Iowa kids, there's this:
"In recruiting it's not the players that you don't get that hurt you. I can lose five guys to Nebraska and it doesn't matter as long as I get five guys that are as good or can replace those guys," he said. "It's those five guys that I beat Missouri or Kansas on who can't play that destroy a program."'
...with the latter part saying why Dan McCarney ultimately failed, for signing too many of those "last five guys".

Re: Rivals Interview with Rhoads
This guy is Iowa State. I love the attitude. Many think that this could potentially be a year that we suprise. and get 5-6 wins.....that would be huge for ISU and really big for 1st year coach PR. I think that if we hit these wins (5,6) that would garner some good media attention, and dismantle the bad times with Chizik. (Heck, I think that if the Clones are 4-0, or 3-1 going into the K-State game, there will definitly be some great media attention on us heading into conference play.) For once, ISU could have a good story again in the College Football world. We need to get behind this guy because of his Iowa roots, morals and his passion for ISU to be a success.
Hit 'em getting off the bus coach!
Go Cyclones!

Re: Rivals Interview with Rhoads
Yet he is similar to dan having a good attitude with players versus the previous coach. Lightyears ahead of where we were.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Not to hijack this thread. This is an incredible read, perhaps the best I've ever seen on CR.

Great article. Really appreciate the honest statements from CPR. I hope we keep him for a long, long time.

I think the article from the Omaha World Herald where James Smith stated he was in Chizik's office twice over two years and has been in Rhoads' ten times since he got hired was the most telling fact.

I too am totally geeked for the season to start. I for one expect an improvement this season based on CPR's attitude and drive alone. Everything I have read this off season has me drinking the kool-aid by the gallons.
