I'd like to take this opportunity to remind everyone (Well, not everyone. Just the JP haters) that this is an area that has improved greatly since Jamie Pollard took over. I hate to think of how many good assistants Mac lost because he could not pay them enough. This is just a important as the head coach's salary IMO.

They made it sound as if they are getting a lot more than Chizik's staff, but the difference is less than $40k. Also, our assistant staff was good when Chizik first started out, but it has fallen back down into the lowest 4th of the conference again in short order.Quote:

Pelton, Pearson--coaching HS in Alabama, I believe (along w/ Raney)
Koonz--at Texas, pretty sure he took a pay cut so we're making up the difference
Mac and Bolt--pretty sure they're just hangin around.
Boulware--at Auburn, not sure on his salary. Might not be paying him if he's making more down there.
Rodgers went to the Broncos, not sure what his salary is or if we're paying him. Peterson took a job at U South Dakota coaching QBs I believe, but was fired before Chizik left so I think we cut him off completely (could be wrong about that part).
Bolt was hired at Auburn. Director of NFL relations, I believe. Fountain is also down there, as well as Boulware.

The ISU guys who I believe went to Auburn were Jay Boulware, Scott Fountain (Football Operations), Wayne Bolt (Football Relations), Dustin Landry and Gabe Rodriguez (GAs).
It was reported that Bolt was going to make somewhere around 90K so we would owe him the diference for another year. I believe everyone else was on a 1 year contract except for MacFarland. If I remember correctly those contracts expired in July so we should be done paying everyone except for the 2 coordinators.
If you go off resumes and past performance the additonal $17,500 we are paying Wally over Bolt looks like a steal.
