I took some pics of the stadium work this past weekend, which I shared earlier in the week on CR. I noticed someone here was jonesing for a pic of the b-ball facility, so I decided to share these as well.
East side of stadium
East gates
East gates 2
East exterior close-up
NE gates
NW gates (Notice view to field is blocked through the north gates, which should give the stadium a more "enclosed" feel from the inside.)
NW gates 2
NW ramp
B-ball facility (Terrible picture, but this is a much more imposing/impressive structure than I expected.)
I'm excited to see the final product. Aside from having the south endzone completed it will actually look like a D-1 football stadium. The new entrance gates will really enhance the exterior look.
Looks great, thanks for posting the pictures! Seeing the construction updates always get me pumped for the season, so hopefully I'll have time to swing through town for the home opener as I make my way from California to Ohio.
The east side is even better than the west side. I took my kids by the stadium early evening last night and we helped ourselves to a tour of the east side, then let them sprint 120 yards across the field -- goal post to goal post. What I really like about the east side is that without the pressbox structure they have room for a very large concourse. It will be a great place to congregate and I would expect for hosting game day events.
But they have to replace the rickety chain link fence surrounding the stadium. It is pure bush league. It's time to replace it with a quality wrought iron fence to match the Reiman Gardens. In fact I wish they had gone w/ wrought iron rather than the big gray pipes that augment the east and west side enhancements.

That's on the list of crap to do this summer I believe. Not the same fence as Reiman, but a different fence.
