I, myself, am looking forward to my very first visit to Ames for the purpose of football this season.
Normally I pop up there for pizza at the Great Plains Sauce and Dough, but me and a couple friends have tickets and I'll be up there cheering on the Cyclones. When should I arrive to tailgate? Well too be honest we shouldnt even have to ignore them, they shouldnt be trolling and running there ********* agenda in a thread that doesnt even pertain to them....

Back on topic, what time is a good time to get there for tailgating? We don't have a parking space or, like, assigned parking, so I'm wondering when would be a good time to get just to kind mill about and soak up the atmosphere?

I'd like to be in the lots by noon or shortly after with a beer in my hand.

I actually have alot of good friends who are Hawk fans, but they don't feel the need to come to ISU message boards at all hours of the day to keep Clone fans in "their place". They can actually respectfully cheer for their team w/out managing to clog up opposing fan base's message boards. Wow. That's a pretty tough concept to get my head around. God forbid we have a positive self image or a place where we can discuss Iowa State Athletics without Hawkeye fans showing up and being complete **** suckers. Don't ever let anyone tell you that you're not doing the general public a huge service by talking **** on your rival's message board on a year round basis. If it wasn't for guys like you and the rest of the ****** Bag Trio (DJK15 and GaryJohnson) we might actually have a positive self image. We don't hate you because you're a Hawk, we hate you because you're a ******* tool. By the way, just so your mom doesn't bust you making a mess of the basement, I hear your boys Satterfield and Ferentz know a thing or two about cleaning up **** stains...

The early arrivers will get there about 12-1. 2-3 is when a lot of people will arrive, but then again there will be A LOT of people arriving right at kickoff since no everyone likes to take off work early and treat it like a goliday like some of us do. The lots will be mostly empty until 5 or so probably.

Excessive intake of alcohol, we all know, kills brain cells, but naturally it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine. That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers. -
