Dustin Avey took a big drink out of my flask, thinking it was beer. It was whiskey/coke. I stormed the field with everyone after the past 2 Iowa games. A few weeks after the 07 game I was watching the a tape of the game and afterwords the VS. guy was interviewing Chizik. Suddenly, some guy ran up and gave him a hug. Something caught my eye so I rewound it and realized it was one of my good friends. It was pretty funny seeing Chizik's reaction reaction

Ran onto the field the last time we beat NU. Got ran over by Brett Meyer running to the pile of ISU players cheering in the middle. I did a faceplant but didnt even care. I was just so happy for him and the team that day

Re: Who has stood on Jack's 50?
I do not exactly recall if I was at the fifty, but my first time storming the field was the 92 NU game. I was really young and did not understand why my dad was going nuts, but I thought the way the turf was spongy was neat. I do remember shaking DMac’s hand at the fifty the season of the Insight Bowl.

Re: Who has stood on Jack's 50?
Every time we have stormed the field since I started college in 1999 I have been on it. You are never too old. Best one had to be Mac's last game though. That was a great sendoff. -

Marched over it every home game for four years. I have a pair of band gloves that I smeared with endzone paint at the end of my last game as a bandmember (one cardinal, one gold).

Re: Who has stood on Jack's 50?
Used to run across the 50 every saturday... not as a player tho...

Re: Who has stood on Jack's 50?
i've marched over it every game day for the past 3 years, sadly this one will be my last. I'll never forget the first time i was on it though. Just a freshman, not really knowing what college was about let alone the passion the people in the stadium had for cyclone football. the crowd was so loud and i was so anxious that i almost blacked out about 4 times. but when we hit the first chord of fanfare, i knew that the jack was someplace magical and that moment will always mean a lot to me.

Had a nice mark on the face for a while after that one I'll bet you were a spitting image of Drew Tate!
I've gone down to the field after the last game of the season a couple of times, including Mac's last game. That was cool, but I'll have to say being on the floor of Hilton is an even cooler experience. I've gone down and stood on the edge of the basketball floor during warmups a few times, and I've been down on the concrete floor during career fairs and of course graduation. That's a more interesting experience because of the unique perspective when Hilton is being used for something other than basketball.

Re: Who has stood on Jack's 50?
had a student that was a trainer for the team, she snuck me in and we got down at the 50 yard line. yeah, so that's breaking and entering, trespassing, and nailing a student when i was her TA....best night ever. go state

Wasn't anyone else there after we lost in the 99-2000 NCAA b-ball Tourney to Michigan State?

Re: Who has stood on Jack's 50?
I was Colorguard commander for ROTC for three years, and helped run the pre-game ceremony for the fourth. Spent quite a bit of time out on the 50 yard line.

Re: Who has stood on Jack's 50?
Like most band members I was on the field 3 times a game for my 4 years in band.
Probably the more rare event is who has stood in the middle of the Basketball Floor at Hilton? I've only done that once.
