ISU/OSU game
Hello. I'm new here. My family and I are looking into making the drive from KCMO to Ames for the ISU/OSU game in November. We plan to stay in town for the weekend and explore the campus a little and take in the atmosphere. I had a few questions for ISU fans...where would be good places to eat, stay and sightsee? Also, would you consider the atmosphere at ISU games to be family friendly? Our children are 1 and 7 years old. We figured on getting the hillside seating and staying towards the back. Thanks, in advance.

Re: ISU/OSU game
Thank you very much. I was just browsing through the replies in that thread. It seems like a nice, fun atmosphere for us to take in a game. Looking forward to it.

Thanks, in advance. Might want to make your reservations early -- just in case our team starts blowing everyone away and all the naysayers decide they want to show up then. :)
Generally we'd like to think we're family friendly. Staying to the back of the hillside is a good idea anyway, especially if you want to watch some of the game.
With a young family, I'd stay away from Campustown/Welch Ave during the evening, but daytime (unless it's a day game) should be okay. Here's the URL for chamber/ convention and visitors bureau. Thanks for the great responses. I appreciate it. I was just checking out the link and it looks like the Reiman Gardens would be a great place to check out with the family.

It was even really my cup of tea and I thought it was pretty cool.

Re: ISU/OSU game
I can't wait for that game. I'm excited to see OSU's high powered offense in action (Im saying this now, but Im sure Ill regret it in a few months). The best part about having a poor season ahead is bringing in some good other teams/players to watch.
Between good teams Iowa and OSU, we also bring in Baylor's QB who should be fun to watch.
Finding some wins in there is just icing on the cake.
Plus you can't go wrong with OSU fans.

Re: ISU/OSU game
The OP is from KC. I suspect he/she will not be overly impressed by the BBQ in Ames.
