I'd say it is pretty damn close, especially when you consider that 2 of those extra losses came in the Conference Championship game, which the Little Eleven conveniently doesn't have. Without those 2 losses Neb's winning perc. goes up to .688. To be fair, the quality of Michigan's bowl games have been far superior to that of Nebraska's. So if you want to give Neb "extra credit" for the championship game losses, you'll have to do the same for Michigan's bowl lineup. It is a little closer than I had thought though, I give you that.

Have they had better bowl games because they have been the better team, or because the big 10 has better bowl tie ins? What is the BCS bowl game count for each team?

Gimme a sec and I'll see what the BCS bowl games for each are since 2000

Re: Do any other fanbases/players hate Iowa State?
UM 4 BCS games since 2000 (3 Rose, 1 Orange)
Neb 2 (1 Rose, 1 Fiesta)

Re: Do any other fanbases/players hate Iowa State?
One could argue that KU still "hates" us. Just watch their message boards during the Big 12 basketball season. Sure, there's the influx of rival bashing posts when a Missouri or Kansas State match up is coming up, but I never see them flare up for a relative "nobody" like they do when they play Iowa State. Methinks some of that old hatred from the early 2000s still exist.

Nebraska beat them head to head and they also play in a tougher conference which more then makes up for the minimal difference in their winning percentages. That and they had a to deal with Bill Callahan which is a huge disadvantage.
One more late addition....... These could be the only 2 schools that fired tremendous coaches with more then solid records like Frank Solich and Lloyd Carr. Awfully high standards at those schools. Yikes.

Re: Do any other fanbases/players hate Iowa State?
As a KU fan with lots of Cyclone friends I just don't see the hatred. I know a lot of KU fans were tired of losing to ISU during that period but most of the time KU lost to ISU because the cyclones had really good teams and KU had teams that could make it to the Sweet 16 at best. Most KU fans I know have more hatred towards Mizzou, KSU and Texas and now some with Nebraska because of all the football trash talk between the two schools recently. I really think ISU is looked at by most as some of the better fans around.

Michigan is the winningest program in college football history. Period. It's pretty hard to argue that Nebraska is a better football program than Michigan.
They are both great programs, but only one is the winningest program of all time.

Re: Do any other fanbases/players hate Iowa State?
I'm in Alabama right now and even Bama fans are busting my chops about ISU. I said "what's the deal? We just sent Chizik to Auburn. Show us a little appreciation."

Re: Do any other fanbases/players hate Iowa State?
I think the answer to the OP's question is pretty obvious:
UCLA, clearly. Their collective hatred for ISU burns hotter than the twin suns of Tatooine.
They will never forget.
