At least he worked his way into better shape as the season progressed, and apparently that won't be an issue this year. It's not like Hamilton didn't see the field. Early in the year he seemed a bit slow and wasn't getting any separation and just wasn't getting open. I wonder if some on the staff thought this was due to lack of effort. I know I was expecting big things out of him last year and was shocked to see him struggle to get open so much.

What left the biggest impression on me from 07 was hamilton doing the dirty work and getting yards across the middle despite getting lit up by a LB the second he caught the ball.
I expected great things last year, but he rode the pine too much.

Marquis can close on a football like no other. I remember a lot of passes that looked like they would be out of reach and somehow he would be in position for the catch.

I expected great things last year, but he rode the pine too much. Ditto this. I've made no secret that I think very highly of him. And was disappointed to see him have little impact the past two seasons. I really felt he'd have a chance to shine in '08 and thought he'd be the go-to guy.
Still fondly remember him in the OU game. Stats were not gaudy, but man, he made some key plays and tough catches in traffic. That's the kind of guy I see him as, big body with great hands that can go across the middle anytime - but also can get behind ya quickly downfield.
Hopefully in his final campaign, he lets it all hang out. He definitely has the physical tools to continue his career at the next level.
