By north they clearly mean New England. Iowa (both for the Clones and Hawks) is much closer to what that guy calls "South" even though we're definitely "North" from a geographic sense.

exactly. here is a dumb quote by Mack Brown "to say that the south is faster than the north is a fallacy, USC is as fast as anyone". Why is it a dumb quote? Because if you look at the map USC is at the same latitude/longitude as the university of Georgia. So USC is definitely a southern school.
