Favre doesn't have to do it all on his own. He would love to be the director of a team that has a 2,000 yard rusher. His threat would be instrumental for that accomplishment.
Do you think that Favre is willing to take a backseat like that and put his six-guns away?

That'd be funny if it were true.

For a superbowl..yes
Re: Favre to play one half
I really have no team in the NFL. With Sage at QB, I would undoubtedly cheer for the Vikings to go to the SB. With Favre at QB, I hope they go 0-16. He is an egotistical has-been with a torn rotator cuff. Look for similar results as last season with the Jets.

Is this a three bullet-point message in Brad Childress' handwriting that you pilfered off the wall of Zygi Wilf's office?
I'm admittedly biased on this topic, but that's a "wish list" with no consideration of BF's personality or recent history. There are so many angles to this soap opera that we could argue for days, but bottom line is: Viking fans are banking that BF will change his ways. I don't see it happening but only time will tell and I can't wait for Week 4 to roll around. This adds an entirely new level to the Packer / viking rivalry and it's gonna be fun!

But then again, it's the receivers fault because they don't know how to play with such a good quarterback.:jimlad:

Ya, what a team player.
The best thing since sliced bread and the savior all together.
Do they have a senior tour for the NFL? I bet he would be good in that.
I was actually responding mostly to the bolded part in your original post. Sage had a pretty decent outing against the Colts going 10 of 13 for 91 yards - not exactly earth shattering numbers, but not bad. Favre played 2 series in the KC game, yet you've seen enough to declare Sage the winner of this battle.
For the record, Peyton Manning was 1-2 for 6 yards and was sacked 3 times in the game against the Vikes. Maybe the Colts should trade for Sage so he can start for them, since Manning is obviously washed up.

Not exactly true, but the last 6 games against Lovie's Bears, Favre has thrown 2 touchdowns to 13 ints and yes, 3 of them were pick 6's. Under Lovie the Bears have beaten Favre's Packers 6 out of 8 games.

He can still play football and play it well. He was playing hurt last year at the end of the year. If he's healthy this year, which by all accounts he is, the Vikings are an instant contender. With Sage or T-Jack, they're an 8-9 win team at best.
There is a real problem with this that I hope you can see...was he helping his team out by playing hurt?...no, he was absolutely killing their playoff chances and they couldn't bench him because his name is Brett Favre, and he wouldn't take himself out.
There IS a reason the Jets and Packers don't want Brett Favre to be their QB.
Re: Favre to play one half
Could a moderator move this out of ISU football, and into Pro Sports?

No I've seen enough over the past couple years to declare that I would rather have at Manning, Sage, or any of another 20 quarterbacks that I could think of before this washed up reject.
Manning didn't retire 3 years in a row. Why am I even arguing this.
What I don't like is that there was no competition. He is given the job because he is Farve, a middle aged Wrangler spokes person. :wideeyed:
And For the Record, T jak at least looked like he has practiced with the team. Once again I reiterate the fact that FARVE said that he just cannot compete at this level any more. Only to come back and say he is going to play for the Vikings.
Maybe I dislike Farve the person more than Farve the player, but I would much rather stick my (insert body part here) in a meat grinder than to listen to announcers go on and on about how he is sooooo great and never makes mistakes while playing for my Vikings.
I see a monsterous let down this year. However, if the brilliant people keep eating this up and buying tickets and jerseys, at least he might get us a new stadium built instead of the Vikings going to LA. If these are my two options I will take keeping the Vikes here. Just don't expect me to be jumping on the Farve band wagon anytime soon.
I will have to watch the games with the volume off this year so I don't have to listen to the media love fest with this has been. But when he adds to his interception record it will not be his fault I'm sure.

You're right. They should have played Kellen Clemens instead. He's awesome. :biglaugh:
