Nice Press from The Denver Post
Nice write up from a Denver Post guy... Henderson: Big 12 road trip provides Plains truth - The Denver Post
• I'm picking Iowa State to get out of the cellar. Growing up in Oregon where the run 'n' shoot was born, I saw what that attack did for teams with inferior talent. Iowa State's new spread is the run 'n' shoot's more balanced, advanced descendant.
Unlike Kansas State, Iowa State has a veteran offense and will score. And how can you bet against new offensive coordinator Tom Herman, who made Rice football matter?

again- no mention of our defense... I'd sell my soul for a good defensive line.

Re: Nice Press from The Denver Post
If there is an excess of talent on offense, the Coach needs to consider moving some players to the other side of the line. I don't know if that's the case or not, but we will soon find out if our DL is serviceable or not.

Who ever suggested that there was an excess of talent? Good grief, we certainly aren't a Texas, Oklahome, or even Okie State talent wise... "Hey! I'm building something here!"

Agreed, but everything is relative. We haven't had a true difference-maker on the DL since Berryman left and that's why we've sucked so bad for the last few years. Perhaps we have a full back or tight end who would make a good defensive end? I'm just speculating, but talent evaluation will make or break Coach Rhoads. Hopefully he won't make the same mistakes Mac made (for example, waiting 4.5 years to hand the ball to Ryan Kock).

I had a flash back to McCarney's first year when he played Troy Davis and everbody wondered why Walden made him sit out a year...
Agree with most of your comment however.
