Looks like they want us at the Jack early for the first game.
Re: Looks like they want us at the Jack early for the first game.
I took it as a heads up that lines will take longer and to give fans a bit of extra time to look at the new renovations. I plan on heading in about 30 minutes before kick-off. Sitting on bleachers for an hour or more does not beat out tailgating.
Re: Looks like they want us at the Jack early for the first game.
Good! People need to get to games earlier and people should not be allowed to leave at halftime. It kills the environment.
People want ISU to be a big time football environment and than they show up 10 minutes after kickoff

They want students out of the commuter lots by 12:00...

Yippie! More time for cheer practice!! :jimlad:

Be there early? It is a 7pm weekday game. I think most people not living in Ames will get there when they can but I doubt it will be early.

Should be so easy with all those people who come straight from work right to the stadium on the Thursday night game. People always filter in late for the thursday game.. And then some will want to get in at least some tailgating so theyll push it to the last minute

My professor said today that the Provost emailed professors asking them to move classes in order to get students done by 5PM for the first football game tomorrow.

I'm only Des Moines but work, quick dinner, babysitter, drive, brief (very) tailgate, and I'll be very lucky to actually see kick-off. I'm not complaining. I don't mind as long as I get to see a majority of the game but I think it shouldn't surpise officials when lots of people are filtering in late.

When you pay for my tickets then you can tell me when I have to be at the game. Until then I could give a rats *** about what anybody thinks about how early or late I walk into a game. Nuff said.

This.
I will leave my tailgate the normal 10 minutes before kickoff. I have never missed the team coming onto the field.

I think there is some degree of disconnect in the athletic department regarding their fan base - last I checked, Thursday is a weekday, and thousands of fans just can't get off work early to run to Ames well ahead of kickoff.
They should be thankful for a nice crowd, regardless of when they arrive...

It's just a suggestion. I love how people take these things personally.

I wonder if the state patrol will have speed traps all up and down I-35 again. Ugh.
