Didn't go, but Urbandale smoked Lincoln tonight, 34-7. Urbandale has sucked horribly the last few years, hopefully this year will be different.

    Cool Re: High School Football

I watched Ankeny beat Waukee in double overtime. Great game!

Ankeny has a freshmen running back that is going to be a stud the next 4 yrs. He have two phenominal stiff arms that looked straight out of college ball.

Waukee's QB is very good. Extremely fast runner and great arm, great touch with the ball. I was impressed.

Yeah, once again West is terrible. Can't get enough defensive stops, stupid penalties, and poor play calling. Jacob Gannon looks like a beast though.

I was at this game and I agree with your comments regarding the Waukee quarterback. That guy has serious wheels and a nice arm as well. If he were a few inches taller, I think D1 schools would be all over him.

Ankeny continues to run it's system with great success year after year. They just plug different players into it. You have to really concentrate to follow the ball or you have no idea who has it.

My high school is Nevada. I'm elated that we only lost by a 14-7 score to Colfax Mingo. Normally we lose by 20+ points every time out.

The ankeny RB is Joel Lanning he looks to be real promising. The other back is Tyler Leo and i heard he is highly interested in us, and there is a good possibility he will committ to ISU

    Re: High School Football

Ames had a 17-0 lead midway through the 2nd quarter versus Johnston. Then laid about 6 eggs between fumbles, Ints, penalties and repeated 3 and outs. Don't think they got a first down the rest of the game and lost their home opener 30-17.
