Makes more sense to have something like this for the 'clones if you ask me.
Do they still fire the cannon? It's been a few years since I've made it back for a game. I didn't think anybody had ever gone to a Vandy game... -
Re: New Loud Siren ?????
People would just need to learn that a tornado siren on game days isn't a real siren, kind of like when they test them the first Wednesday of the month.

Re: New Loud Siren ?????
Can't they just make a PA Annoucement saying they will 'test' the siren during gameday during the football season?

Re: New Loud Siren ?????
I really want a real "cyclone"/tornado siren. Did anyone feel it was really tacky when we had the submarine "dive" siren? I also wouldn't mind if the crowd would mimic a tornado siren as a quasi chant. That would be amazing to hear!

Re: New Loud Siren ?????
That new tornado siren has a very load PA system built in. They tested it one day when I was at Hilton and I could hear it fine over the noise of Elwood. It also has other tones in it for different emergencies. UNI had the different tones online for people to listen to (all three school got the same system after Virgina Tech).

OK... Someone tailgating in the parking lot needs to step up with their most totally dominant yet awesome sounding car audio system and blast (and I mean BLAST) the beginning of REO Speedwagon's "Riding the Storm Out!" There's your tornado siren! -
