That safety looked really good. Don't remember seeing him last year. Is he a freshman?

i am mixed emotions here. at times i really liked what i saw. at others, we looked incredibly out of sync. i realize they are still learning the O, but man there were a couple times where a receiver was streaking, and arnaud either tucked or kicked to the down receiver. missed opportunities.

very nervous about the Defense - man that looked suspect at times. the D line is going to be a weakness all year i fear.

D-Line = Really bad. Man handled all game.

Arnaud looked rough. Played much better the second half but still shaky.

Kennard Banks needs to learn how to tackle.

David Sims is going to have a very good season.

Defense could be worse than last year, but hopefully it was first game jitters or it could be a VERY long year.

Sims must be an animal. I'm excited to see him play.
Sounds like our run defense needs major help.
Definitely not an impressive win, but I'll take it and be happy.
Hopefully AA can relax and play his game.
Bring in Schwartz for short yardage situations, as long as he can hold onto the ball.

Offense looked great at times and at others, the timing was waaay off. Robinson is going to be good. Looked great coming out of the backfield and catching passes. AA still has that poise that sets him up to be great, imo.

Lot of dropped balls. AA was behind a lot of receivers, and things got better as the game went on, but still, too many balls hit hands, then the ground.

D actually did better at times than I expected. STill going to be our achilles heel though. Still missing too many tackles and not shedding blocks at the point of attack.

Defensive backfield was the bright spot of the D, in my opinion. A few games under their belt and they might get it. Still a long ways to go though.

Iowa is definitely going to be a lot to handle next week.

    Those are my quick recaps.

    1. The coaching is much more disciplined this year. What was there 1 penalty on our side all night?
    2. The run defense was terrible, luckily they had to start passing after getting behind.
    3. I love watching big man Marquis Hamilton. Even when he was a freshman he looked like a big incredible athlete. Great to see him get off to a good start.

Rashawn Parker looks like an animal compared to last year, he's huge!

    Re: Offical Postgame thread

    A win is a win.

Tough game to watch for the most part. Pretty sure Iowa's OL is going to murder our D-Line. NDSU's OL had their way with us. Our tackling is still below par.

Positives. Hamilton looks good again. Lenz looks VERY comfortable, and good returning punts. Mahoney is a stud. Return combo of LJ and Sims might be one of the best Iowa State has had.
