Team entrance was a mixed bag. Loved the cut from the video to the locker room doors. Kind of waiting to unleash the beast. "Smoke on the Water" is a nice touch and definitely fits the Rhoads motif we seem to have given everything. I am sure we could come up with something different, but like everything else, when we start winning things will begin to stick. I guess the pleasing part was other than the "tunnel walk" we really aren't ripping off another school.
The speakers need improved and we need better coordination between the music and the band.
Those of us of a certain age really liked that tune, and think it fits well.
I agree, for the nth time, that for a university with a renown engineering school, our sound system could be much better. And, please, fix that music coordination problem that we seem to have had forever. We're better than that.
I was perfectly fine with 2 Unlimited "Twilight Zone" for the intro music, we had that for quite awhile with Mac. Go ahead and make fun of the jock jams techno music, but everybody got into it, clapped along, and seemed to pump up the crowd and team. It actually brought some energy into the stadium.
I've maintained this for years. If the crowd cannot participate (clap to it) then it is not very good entrance music. This is especially true when you don't have a very good sound system. The noise of forty five thousand people will put our sound system to shame.

I can't comprehend why they can't get this right. I could do it for crying out loud. Team comes out, push the mute button on the music. It can't be that difficult.
The actual tornado sirens at the beginning had me so excited that I can't complain about the rest of it. Would be cool if they changed it to blow the sirens just as the team is running out.

That eliminates roughly everything, including the fight song. It's bad enough in Hilton, when people at midcourt end up 2-3 beats ahead of the pep band just on the fight song. It's even worse at JTS.

Phasing + alcohol = clap fail.
Exactly, the students also don't get the concept of going at a slower constant speed. They insist on speeding up and it screws with everything.

[QUOTE=CYCRAZY;1222830]I didnt really like the song the played to them coming out, IMO it coulda been a better choice. Also I would much rather hear the band play instead of the pumped in music all the time.... why do they always pump music in over the band[/QUOTE
1. Because listening to them sucks!!!
2. The only people who like listening to the band are over 80 years old, because it reminds them of their childhood, and parents of one of the band members!
haha - I tend to agree. Although the fight song is a great end to the entrance. Imo, the band should be used to compliment the audio management (first downs, td's, kickoffs, etc.) not the main component.

BOO! Former band members (like me) enjoy listening to the band too!
The reason I would prefer the band playing the team onto the field is that it is so authentically college football. If you want to see teams run onto the field to piped in music, watch the NFL pregame in my opinion.
Either way, I wish they would coordinate better and do only one at a time. Playing at the same time sounds amateurish and sounds like they are fighting. From my band days, it was a constant competition with the PA to get a chance to play and it got worse every year. Now, with the no huddle offense, they wont even be playing for first down and third down as much.
I would prefer some coordination and have the band play fights just as the team comes out of the tunnel. Then, after one round of fights, they can switch back to the PA. That's just my opinion though.

Really?? Some of the best entrances in college football are from piped in music!!
