Would you be in favor of having...

...beer sold at ISU sports venues?

2theadvocate.com | News | Cajun Field adds beer for fans — Baton Rouge, LA

"Thirty-four NCAA schools sell alcohol in their stadiums, though nearly half restrict sales to certain areas, such as lounges or suites, according to information provided by Daryl Cetnar, ULL sports information director."

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

I'd personally like it but I think maybe first half only.

I say no, folks are already drunk in the stadium, why encourage it further?

I love tailgating, and I love me some beer, but if you blur the line between parking lot and stadium, I don't think you'd like the result.

No, there's plenty of drinking to be done outside, no reason to allow it to continue inside.

Yes, but like a poster said above cut it off after half time and don't let people leave and get back in. The beer sales would greatly increase operating revenue and maybe you'd have less people bringing in their own booze.

It's a BOR issue, not ISU.

So if ISU would get sales, so would iowa. And I think we all know that's not a good thing. hawk players have enough trouble when alcohol is at the bars - imagine if it's where they play too.

"We have a new development coming out of halftime - the iowa offensive line led by James Ferentz has been arrested for DUI while taking turns popping wheelies at midfield with Kyle Calloway's scooter"

I rather agree with others. I don't see a need for it at a college venue.

Re: Would you be in favor of having...

I've been going to ISU games for well over 30 years. Didn't need alcohol in the stadium then, I don't see any reason for it now. It's a headache I can't imagine ISU wanting to get involved with. The liability, etc. Especially at our games. I just see things getting out of hand at games. It gets a little over the top as it is with all the consumption. I'm not sure selling it in games would add to anything except arrests.

Oh yeah, and I'm saying this with full belief that the actions of a very few would ruin it for all. It's just that that small minority that would take it too far, would cause way too many problems.

No thanks. I drink my fair share in the hours leading up to the game, I don't need more on the inside. It also gives me a chance to sober up and drink water for the haul home.

Iowa and Nebraska fans were the first thing I thought of. Could you imagine them liqoured up in Jack Trice?

    This.

Seriously - it would take about a week before there's a DUI crash and probably fatality where the driver could be linked directly back to drinking at JTS, Kinnick or the UNI dome.

It's unfortunate that there are so many who can't control themselves - but that's the world we live in.

I am apparently getting old because I wouldn't really want to take a kid to JT, and I would probably just stay home if it got any worse than it is now.

I'm not understanding this? I think it's a great place and people behave themselves pretty doggone well.
