2. Iowa's third string running back is better than any running back on Iowa State's roster. Very strong possibility this is true. Barring injury, when it's all said and done, I believe Brinson will have a very solid career at Iowa. It's too bad both he and Hampton are in the same class.
3. Ricky Stanzi is much better than Arnaud and the stats don't mean anything. Like #2, when it's all said and done, this could very well be true. The big difference between the 2 QB's seem to be the system they are in. After watching the ISU game Thursday night, Arnaud can only take so many punishing hits running downfield. So he may be slowed with injuries, as could Stanzi. This one isn't as big of a stretch as you think it is, as no one knows what could happen the next 3 years (2 for Stanzi). It could go either way.
4. Ricky Stanzi is just as good with or without Shonn Greene. Could very well be true. Nobody has seen him without Greene behind him, so for all we know, he could flourish with the chance to throw the ball more.
5. Iowa will beat Iowa State 27-3. Anybody's guess at this point, we'll have to wait and see.
6. Ricky Stanzi is the best quarterback in the Big 10 and Big 12 and is just a notch below Tebow after this season. See #1
7. Iowa will go 10-2 and win the Big 10. What's so ******* crazy about this? Iowa's done it 3 times in the past 7 years. (minus the championship in 03, 11-1 in 02) If you think he's dumb for making the statement, you're equally dumb for trying to call him out as at this point, nobody knows. We'll get a better idea in a few weeks. Personally, I'm not going to predict that, but it would be a nice season if it turned out that way. So 2 are extreme homer statements, the rest are no worse than what we've seen here.
2: Last year, ISU had what, 3 or 4 backs that were better than Greene going into the season?
3: ISU fans obviously would rather have Arnaud, Iowa fans for the most part would rather have Stanzi, myself included. It's all about the system they play in, not necessarily their ability.
4: Tough to really find an example here. I'll let an objective Cyclone handle this (if they wish)
5: I've seen some wild predictions on here about what the ISU record would be.
So for most of the subjects "they" touched on, they weren't too far off (or may be proven right). The other 2 were just simply weird statements. They just didn't fit with how you perceive Iowa to be this year, so you ran here to try and prove this stereotype that all Iowa fans are idiots.

I played against Paki in high school and he had crazy break away speed. Granted this is D1 football and not high school, I think Paki will still have some surprising speed. I think that as Cyclones, we are very fortunate for the Hawks to have to running back woes that they have had. I just wish they had some defensive woes, or some offensive line woes to go along with that. Sorry, Paki was a walkon for Cedar Rapids, he is not as good as any of the three guys at ISU, period. There are a lot of linemen that come out of nowhere as walkons, but very, very, rarely will a skill guy sneak under the radar that far. He does have good speed and clearly uderstands what the Hawks want from the running back position, but he is not a great running back. He may get a lot of yards today and against ISU, but that will have a lot more to do with the abilities of the Iowa OL.

How can there be a champion without a championship game.

Re: Funny Hawkeye fan comments
These types of comments are never uttered here.
I really don't know why so many people here think the Hawkeyes have an evil team and fan base. They aren't much worse than anybody else. Don't forget there were posters on here predicting 7 to 9 wins for our football team this year.

Re: Funny Hawkeye fan comments
Didn't we also laugh when they made the totally stupid comments last year about their fat, soft, overweight, TV watching instead of working out RB by the name of Shonn Greene being better then our running backs????? That worked out well for us didn't it.
With that being said, I am holding out on my opinion until later on in the season.......... -

My favorite is the moron on WMT radio out of CR referring to Kinnick as "the Mecca of college football."
Really?
Always a candidate for exaggeration of the year.

Really? Always a candidate for exaggeration of the year. As opposed to all the threads proclaiming a 50 point blowout victory by the Cyclones on Thursday night? After hearing Gary from Indianola and Cyclone Jerry call in to KXNO the past couple of days, I would say that the homerism is equally as rampant on the ISU side of the fence.

Re: Funny Hawkeye fan comments
Last time Iowa had a great team, the were CO-champions. What is that? It means NO champion unless those two teams decide it on the field. I think the NCAA should take another look at this. If I understand it correctly, the NCAA will not sanction a championship game in a conference with 11 teams. I really believe that a conference without a championship game should be allowed only 1 BCS bowl game per year.
