Re: Hawks vs. Panthers: In-game scouting report
This really screws up the ridiculous point spread ISU has covered the last 10 years against the hocks. Might actually be under 20 points this year.

Re: Hawks vs. Panthers: In-game scouting report
I expect us to move pretty good between the 20s, but struggle after that again this year. Iowa's D is salty and it is their saving grace for sure.

Re: Hawks vs. Panthers: In-game scouting report
I would like to predict for Tommy in Des Moines that Iowa still will defeat ISU 60 - 3. It took big heart to go into their own stadium and block two field goals to preserve a one point win. Most teams would have taken the easy way out and won by 20.

I love how this is a huge kick in the pants for both UNI fans and Iowa fans. Most of them are one and the same. Serves them right for having no spines.

Re: Hawks vs. Panthers: In-game scouting report
And got my first text claiming UNI is by far 10x better than NDSU and should run the tabel easily in 1-AA

I think that ISU would have had problems with that UNI team.

The Kool-Aid is flowing freely right now. Our pass defense is beyond awful. We get exactly zero pressure, and if teams are willing to settle for 5-7 yard dump passes, they can score all day because we can't defend anything.

Re: Hawks vs. Panthers: In-game scouting report
Why? We do not have a single player who could start in the defensive front 7 of either of these teams. Now, the Hawks will be very determined to perform well against us and motivated!
What a great college football game!

"Might win?" Did you watch their game today? I'm not looking for a blowout, but we should win.

Re: Hawks vs. Panthers: In-game scouting report
All that will happen now is that Hawk fans all week will be saying how strong UNI is, and how UNI will probably win the national championship in their division, and how this was good for Iowa, because now they will not come out flat against ISU, and how many Iowa fans wanted a close game against UNI as a test.......blah, blah, blah........haven't any of you figured out Hawk fans yet? Just watch what they say. I will bet I am right. lol

Re: Hawks vs. Panthers: In-game scouting report
Ugghhh....dual ISU/UNI fan here (from Ames, went to UNI). Very, very proud of the effort the Panthers played with today. Too many damn penalties though. Painful loss, but at least it won't count against us for a playoff run later on. The second block by Iowa was impressive. There guys looked like they were 12 feet in the air.
Can't fault the kicker for keeping it low. That was a 50 yard attempt! The longer the attempt, the lower in the air the ball has to be.
