Yeah, CF's own Jon Miller said so himself on his other site, HR.
I love that they have to resort to hypothetical comparisons to assuage their feelings today.

And I think that's a weak response. Iowa probably isn't as good as their pre-season popularity rating might lead one to believe, but I don't think they're a bad team, nor did they play poorly today. I think UNI came in well-prepared and played a fine game. That's not a knock on the hawks, quite the opposite in fact. I HATE when hawk fans minimize the impact of the opposition by claiming to have played poorly.

The coaches have coached together for 10 years. Over the past few years they have had problems scoring and defending the pass. ISU will be a tough game for Iowa, it could be a shoot out. Give credit where it needs to go.

Let me clarify. Iowa executed poorly today. It was a mixture of things. UNI definitely came to win, so hat's off to them. We've all seen Iowa execute a ton better than they did today (PSU, Minny, Wiscy, Indiana and SCAR, all examples of last year) I agree that Greene had a huge hand in that, but as good as this OL is, a marginal back should be good enough. Once everyone gets shuffled and settled in on the OL, I think Iowa will execute better.

I guess you can say the same thing about ISU as well. Once ISU players settle into their roles, they will execute better. ISU by no means played a perfect game.
I don't buy that, "well, UNI is a lot better than NDSU" argument. ISU still has work to do. Iowa still has work to do.
Re: Hawks vs. Panthers: In-game scouting report
UNI is MUCH better than NDSU. Without question.

Most rational mammals won't dispute this. I think it's a 10+ point game if ISU faced UNI today.
However, on the other side, it's pathetic for the Hawk fans to be jumping on the "UNI would beat ISU" stuff to deflect attention from their poor showing today.

I agree. UNI would have beaten us on Thursday (assuming we played at the same level as we did against NDSU).

I guess it's my turn to clarify.
In another thread, I stated that SDSU defeated NDSU last year pretty easily. ISU defeated SDSU pretty easily last year, so I didn't think NDSU would pose too much of a problem this year. I got ripped on, and I could see where people would rip on me.
Those are two different teams, and ISU may have played differently against UNI as well. ISU did just enough to win the game Thursday. Maybe the same could be said about Iowa as well. I don't know.
