How important is the Iowa game?
I'm not talking about bragging rights but for the rest of the season. If we win we're 2-0, and beat a top 25 team (if Iowa holds their poll position). It would also be a great confidence booster. So is this game a necessary win towards a good season? Could ISU still have a solid season with a loss at home to Iowa?

Very important...if we beat Iowa then we have a good chance of going 4-0 before big 12 play

Re: How important is the Iowa game?
Huge game for both...will set the tone for the rest of the season. I hope it's our teams superbowl, or at least they play like that. And continue with every game being our next superbowl.

Even if we lose to Iowa, Kent St and Army are more important IMO. If we start 3-1, thats plenty of confidence right there.

Record wise, its not any more important than the NDSU game.

Re: How important is the Iowa game?
We need all the wins we can get, this ones at home, and winnable. Very Important for 2009.

Re: How important is the Iowa game?
It's our most important game this week.

Re: How important is the Iowa game?
For those of us living in enemy territory this game has great importance.
Had UNI made one of those two kicks, we'd have been setting up the single most crushing 2 game series in Iowa history. Their souls would have wept...
so close.

this game is huge for both teams. for ISU it would likely mean a 4-0 start to the season, going into one of our more winnable conference games against KSU. for Iowa they need to bounce back from a really pathetic performance against UNI and if they lose, it shows that its going to be a long year in Iowa City.

Re: How important is the Iowa game?
Very important. They are weaker then almost any Big 12 team and we need all the wins we can get.

Bob Bruce (a hawk apologist said it best): Every rivalry has the "superbowl copout" - Texas claims its Tech's superbowl, Nebraska claims its Colorado's superbowl ... all while Colorado claims its Colorado State's superbowl.

are both sides already acting like they don't care about this game, or does that start tomorrow?
