The coaches poll is stupid. Can you think of a group of people who watch less of other teams around the country than college football coaches? Seems like they're pretty busy on Saturdays. Sure, they watch film of the teams they're playing, but other than that, they have a very limited amount of data from which to draw their conclusions.

The bigger issue is coaches inflating the rankings of teams in their conference or on their schedule.

why are there even starting rankings before a ball is thrown? Why cant the last BCS rankings from the previous year be used...??? If not...wait till at least three games are played and then a ranking.
