UNI, who actually has an even better offense than ISU.
What?!! Since when?

Re: This made me chuckle...
So Iowa beating UNI by 1 makes them a proven commodity while ISU beating NDSU by 17 makes us unproven? That may be the dumbest thing I've ever read. I'm definitely dumber now for reading it. I'd negative rep the OP if I could just for exposing me to that brain virus of an article.

Re: This made me chuckle...
So, from skimming this article, I can basically sum up what he said like this:
Iowa didn't play well vs UNI. They will be better against ISU.
ISU played ok against NDSU, but they're NDSU, so ISU isn't that good.
Iowa has always been better and has more fans in the state, so they will win.
Does that pretty much sum it up?

Re: This made me chuckle...
Our D has been getting a ton of criticism and rightfully so. BUT, I think we are going to see a major improvemrnt this week in our front 7. I see them being more aggressive and blitzing more.
Against UNI, stanzi showed he may be a little vulnerable against pressure.

Re: This made me chuckle...
I am in awe that a human being actually wrote this. I guess I shouldn't be. For anyone who didn't know, Iowa is a Hawkeye State. Almost every town in Iowa has more Hawkeye fans than Cyclone fans with the exception of Ames. Jack Trice Stadium will be filled with black and gold on Saturday, and it should feel more like a home game for Iowa than Iowa State. -
Re: This made me chuckle...
After this game they should vault back into the Top 25 and head into a week three date at home against Arizona with some much-needed momentum.
If Iowa State is as bad as this guy thinks, how does he think a win over them is going to propel Iowa from being ranked 35th in to the Top 25?

Correct me if I'm wrong, didn't Iowa sell back a bunch of unsold tickets?
And this ******** obviously hasn't been to any games in Ames recently. Really... I want to know what he's on because it must be some pretty good stuff Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!!! In Accordance with Prophecy -

Re: This made me chuckle...
check out the comments below the article
I just think that Iowa's team is too strong this year for it to be close. While the game has been close for the past few years, when Iowa has a great eam, it's usually a blowout. The combination of Iowa's defense plus their play action and run dominated offense plus a new coach and young team for ISU will give the Hawkeyes a fairly good-sized victory.
Obviously he's forgotten about 2005 (good team coming in) and 2007 (new head coach)

Sorry THH, even Hawk fans should not have predicted 350 yards passing from Stanzi. The 125 on the ground byt the starting running back I might understand, but if Iowa had gotten the lopsided victory he predicted, there is no way the starting QB would have passed that much. They would have run the ball non stop and had the backup QB in at least by the 4th quarter.
This guys is a moron. He apparently believes that Iowa rolls on ISU every year. THis is not the case. Even when Iowa has won the past few years, the games have been close.

Re: This made me chuckle...
As bad as ISU was last year, nearly all of our stats in the iowa game last year were better. Unfortunately we couldn't score in the red zone in that mud hole. I attribute most of that to coaching and we've got that part fixed. Didn't a hawkeye player let it slip last year that they were preparing for ISU before their game against Maine?
I'm also curious what game film they're using to prepare. They've got absolutely nothing out of the NDSU game. Are they watching Rice games?

Re: This made me chuckle...
That was classic!!! What a homer. Nothing could be gained from the ISU's game against NDSU. UofI's game against UNI was equally meanless; despite what happened on the field.
I loved the part where The Jack would be like a home game for the UofI. Has this guy attended a rivalry game in Ames? It sure doesn't read like he has.

Re: This made me chuckle...
As some have already stated, this guy is possibly just saying what his readers want to hear. However, with their dissapointing game versus UNI, I am not sure how much fans want to hear this kind of homerism. If ISU had beaten NDSU by 1 point, I would shun any fan on this board for saying that ISU would then beat the hawks by 20+.
I personally did not even like when some posters on this site garaunteed a 40 point victory of NDSU, even if it was in response to trolls. I prefer to rationalize each game and I don't think either team in this heated rivalry will win by more than 7-10.
