Is 9/19/09 the day?
Iowa State @ Kent State. Can we put the road losing streak behind us? We'll still have the road conference losing streak to worry about, but we'll deal with that another day.
Kent State's first two games:
Kent State 18, Coastal Carolina 0
Boston College 34, Kent State 7
Boston College sealed the game early and Kent State needed all 4 quarters to get those 18 points against Coastal Carolina. Jarvis is still running the ball.
This is a must win if you feel 6 wins is a possibility.
The campaign starts now. November 6, 2012. -

I just think this is a must win if we want any fans to show up for the Army game. If Kent blows us away I have to wonder how long attendance can stay in the 40s....

Unless we get 6 wins by the end of October. This "spread" offense I saw yesterday with this personel will not work in cold weather. Looking at schedule, Colorado is the only real game this probably affects though, so good for us. Shoot, this program needed that game yesterday.

As long as the weather is good the fans will show up. Although if we get blown out in Kent, Ohio, we will pretty soon have to start using the "ticket and a free t-shirt for $10" promotion that we used at the end of last year.
Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good. Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better. Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step. Our offense should go into Kent state with a big chip in their shoulder and look to prove their worth in Ohio. Time to start winning these winnable road games.
Yeah we looked bad, but Kent state and army looked bad, along with kansas state, Colorado, and even mizzou. This season is far from over and just getting started. ISU has a VERY good chance to go 2-1 or 3-0 in the next 3 games. Just need to get our heads on straight and put a bragging rights game we lost behind, bcuz in the scheme of things that game yesterday will in no way shape or form decide our season. Can't wait for next week to see Rhoads, Arnaud, and all of Cyclone Nation bounce back.

Ya, ISU can definetly hit the the 2-1 mark, if we sustain offensive drives.
