I agree - now if they just get rid of the smoke when the team comes out onto the field. All the players and coaches still tip-toe because they can't see where the goal post is - which is what I would do too.

Im hoping it means that theres no more jeff... but just as likely would be that because both Iowa's and ISU's band's performed their pregame shows, JJ was cut due to time constraints. I guess we'll see next week.

Somebody demolish that scoreboard/sound system

I agree. Let the cheerleaders and the band lead the cheers. I have also noticed how bad the sound system is this year. It has sounded good in past years so I wonder if something is wrong with it?

No JJ was good, but the fact that our OL was solid and we have a strong running game -- if we choose to use it -- was pretty good, too. Iowa doesn't allow very many running backs to get 100+ yards on them, but Robinson did it with ease and could have had a lot more.
Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good. Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better. Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step. Re: Easily the best thing about yesterday was...
I actually had mixed feelings on this one -
-I was happy with no JJ. I've been hoping for that to stop for quite some time.
-However, I must admit we lacked a little without him. 'Cyclone - - Power' is a great one and has to be intimidating to the visitors, and it never happened on Saturday. I was hoping that the cheerleaders or students would handle it, but it never happened.
JJ's absense must have been why we lost! -
Re: Easily the best thing about yesterday was...
I liked it that the students started the Cyclone Power chant even in the absence of the great JJ. It wasn't as loud as usual, but I was in section B and could hear it loud and clear and we were yelling back with "POWER"

if the crowd can't get up for the Iowa game on their own, they we are not fans.

Re: Easily the best thing about yesterday was...
Jeff was feeling under the weather Saturday and could not make it. I understand that some don't like his "cheerleading" pre-game, but there is noone who is a better ambassador for Iowa State University. He is very passionate about the University and gives it his all. Jeff is a great person, and while some may not like his cheerleading, he does way more for the University and athletics than most of you are aware.
