Re: ISU vs Iowa FB photos
Thanks! Anyone else notice that the Hawks are holding in every single pic of their OL? I know that happens for both teams and they just cant call it every time it actually happens, but you're not supposed to grab their pads like they do. Correct me if I'm wrong though.

I didn't comment on the last set because while they were good, I know you can do better.
I know we got kicked around yesterday but these are by far your best images based on quality, image sharpness and noise. Good job.

The photos showing use of the hands within the shoulder pads look legal to me - exactly what good OL are coached to do. What you can't do is reach outside the framework or pull a guy away from making a play. It's up to the defender to use his hands to break the blockers grip. Win the battle of the hands and you win the play more often than not.

OL are supposed to keep their hands inside, when they are outside is when they are called for holding cause its easier to see. I played Oline and Dline in Jr High and High School and I was also coached to take someone down with me if he was gonna bowl me over, coached doesnt = right.

The 3 photos that showed Iowa blocking would all be considered within the framework and be completely legal. They are not even close to being a gray area as far as holding goes. The key is to use your feet to get in position to lock onto the defender as is shown in the 3 photos. This is what the rules allow and what good coaches teach. A blocker who doesn't get into the proper position ends up reaching out to grab and ends up committing holding.

Not sure who their 67 is, but the person in the photo is 67, not 77. Not a big deal.
How do you like being a photographer during the game? do you feel like you miss watching the game, or just the opposite?
