    "Ya Know"

It only bugs me because I had a friend who would drop 20 "ya knows" in 2 mins of conversation BUT I think AA might be able to break that record after hearing this weeks Monday Interview. I think the guy is A+ but someone has to...ya know...tell him to not say that so much....ya know. For his sake if you know him....tell him he's awesome and your glad he's our man but...ya know would be ok to not say ya know.

Let's not crap on the guy for not being the most eloquent speaker you have ever heard in your life. First of all, public speaking is tough no matter who you are and everyone has their nervous ticks. Secondly, it's tough to answer questions on the spot. Third, AA is a great person so don't start this crap. Please.

Speaking of that, listen to the Wes Welker interview on Dan Patrick this morning.

    DP Show

He would give Troy Davis a run for his money.

The whole 'ya know' thing started when people stopped at least pretending to listen. If you aren't getting verbal or visual affirmation cues then you will want to make sure people are listening...

Could see that. I would hope that if one asks a question that they would listen.

PR stammers too. Either they can't correct it, or they don't know they are doing it.

    Re: "Ya Know"

Plus, its an interview. Pros tend to know what questions are coming or should be coming. Its easier to get an idea of what to say in those situations. When you have little idea to what is going to be said, you try and buy sometime to think of an adequate response and make sure your sentences make sense.

I can't fault the kid. I can give a dynomite presentation because I know what needs to be said and I have gone over it several times. Giving interviews is a different animal. You are trying to make sure you are positive in your responses, don't blame your teammates, try to not give too many cliches, provide bulletin board material, and don't **** any one off (coaches, friends, family, fans....) all while trying to sound intelligent. Its a lot more difficult than it seems. Hell, and I only gave my interviews to local media, not state, or national.
