Cyclones Of the Week: Week Three

The Cyclone football team is 2-1 after yesterday's 34-14 win over Kent State.

Time to vote on our Cyclones of the week.

My offensive pick goes to the offensive line this week. A-Rob had 143 yards and a touchdown. He did that behind an awesome line last night. They impressed me a lot and I think it's time for the big boys to get recognized.

On defense, there were a couple of guys worthy of this award. I'm going to give my vote to Chris Lyle. Seven tackles, a sack and two tackles for a loss.

Looking forward to your votes. I'll post the winners sometime tomorrow.

I know everyone is going to say ARob for offense...and deservedly so. However, I am going to put a vote in for Jake Williams and reinvigorating a no-pulse passing offense.

For defense...this is the first time this season that no one really stood out to me...in a good way. They worked really well as a unit.

I agree with Chris here... The oline stepped up and made things easy last night, especially when AA really struggled to move the ball in the seconds half and his arm wasnt quite on target yet.

Lyle is turning into quite a player.

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Got to go with Austen Arnaud for bouncing back this week, running for 2 TDs and passing for one.

    Chris Lyle on D.

I agree with Chris on the OL.

Where does one find defensive statistics? Seems to me, Josh Raven had a pretty good game. I'll go with him.

I am really enjoying Mahoney. That kid can kick. By his senior year I expect him to kick it through the uprights from end to end. Seems like he is getting stronger and more accurate. He had a nice tackle as well. =)
