Our offensive line has been very solid so far
We are number one in the league in sacks against. Our Oline has only given up one sack this year. They have also opened up some huge holes for Alexander Robinson. Robinson is second in the league in rushing at 108 ypg.

Reggie Stephens deserves some all-conference attention thus far.

I agree about our line play. I've also noticed the struggles that some of our upcoming conference opponents (Baylor and K-State particularly) are having against the run. This gives us a good shot in those games.

Re: Our offensive line has been very solid so far
My only gripe was Lamaak's boneheaded penalties against Kent State. Hopefully that gets fixed soon.
On a side note we had two penalties against our O-line for something I had not heard in a long time. One was an illegal head slap (Lamaak) and the other was hitting a defenseless player. Wonder which ref slept with his rule book the night before the game?

Wonder which ref slept with his rule book the night before the game? I think Lamaak got called 3 times. I think 2 of those 3 were very questionable...especially the "blow to the head" one.

Re: Our offensive line has been very solid so far
That "blow to the head" one was pretty lame. The guy rushed him off-balance and Lamaak threw him to the ground, as he deserved. I wonder if the coaches told him to do the same thing if he gets a chance again (just keep the hands away from the head).

Solid, yes, but I'm not sure they've been challenged yet--even Iowa dropped off into coverage alot.
Can you imagine if Hayworth Hicks weren't redshirting?

I was surprised to see him in there saturday. Did he have a false start or was it a hold?

So far so good, and I love that ISU has been able to pretty much run at will, but I think it's too early to be talking "all-conference" just yet. Let's see how things go against a couple of Big 12 opponents.

The penalties got reeeeeeaally rediculous for a while... on both sides of the ball. You'd almost think the ref's got paid by the number of flags they throw in a game the way they were whipping them out for a while
Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!!! In Accordance with Prophecy -
Re: Our offensive line has been very solid so far
Yea there was a streak of several penalties in a row, I think Lamaak's "head slap" was part of it. I got a laugh out of one of our false starts, when the ref announced it as "False Start...number 63...among others"
