Clone Zone to carry ISU-Army Game
Clone Zone To Carry ISU-Army Football Game - Iowa State University Athletics Official Web Site - www.CYCLONES.com - The home of Iowa State Cyclone Sports
Discussed in the TV thread, but here is the official article on Cyclones.com
Mods you can merge this with TV if you want, but because it's a rather unique event and this contradicts previous information (that Clone Zone would only be carrying the NDSU game), I thought it was worthy of it's own thread
Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!!! In Accordance with Prophecy -
Re: Clone Zone to carry ISU-Army Game
Sounds like at this time Mediacom will not be broadcasting the game...
The Clone Zone will show the Jack Trice Stadium videoboard feed as its video source and use Cyclone Radio Network commentary of John Walters and Eric Heft for audio

Re: Clone Zone to carry ISU-Army Game
Does anyone know how clear this will be when its from the video board? Better than nothing

Walters for the audio...Going to be a nervous watch for me!

I imagine the cameras are just fine to give a good picture. The video board isn't the greatest medium to judge.
My guess is that the coach's show highlights use the same cameras, and I think that picture is pretty decent.

Re: Clone Zone to carry ISU-Army Game
It won't be them pointing a camera at the video board, this should be the same signal being sent to the board.
That said, no idea how it will compares to the NDSU game, which used Mediacom's feed.

Originally Posted by kcclones Does anyone know how clear this will be when its from the video board? Better than nothing If it is anything like the NDSU game, the feed was not that bad. It got slow a couple of times but I was able to at least watch the entire game.

It's actually not too bad. Could be worse, could be nothing at all.

Re: Clone Zone to carry ISU-Army Game
It should be noted that these webcasts are designed for computer screens, not big screen HDTV's. I don't have a big screen TV, so I can't comment on how it looked on those but it was decent to watch on my laptop Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!!! Re: Clone Zone to carry ISU-Army Game
The NDSU game looked pretty good on my one of my big screens.

Re: Clone Zone to carry ISU-Army Game
So you're saying I shouldn't hold up on buying a new TV just so I can continue to watch Clone Zone on my 20" "Flat Screen" CRT? Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!!! In Accordance with Prophecy -
Re: Clone Zone to carry ISU-Army Game
One drawback to watching it this way will be that they are sometimes still showing replays when the next play is underway. Not a big deal when you're at the game, but more of a problem when you're watching it on your computer.
But like acrozier22 said, it's better than nothing. Having the audio from the radio broadcast ought to help too.
