I dont know about anyone else on here but im a big fan of James Capello and I wanted to see what the general thought on him was from most people. I think he has a great upside having run the spread in high school and Tom Herman's first recruit so he must fit the system. hes good decicsion maker in the spread style and very mobile. What do you guys think? When do you think he could become the starter? Could he be battling for it once Austen is done?
I know he did a good job filling in for Austen and Tiller when they both got hurt in the same game and were out for at least 4 weeks in NCAA '10. Other than that, don't know much about him.
41-51 Record in CF Mafia. The most games played and wins by any player in Cyclone Fanatic History. Yes, I'm a nerd.

good evening Mr. Capello. great to have your son at ISU.
ok ok i think it will be a solid rotation of starting a junior with a frosh or soph back up. aka i think jerome will take over as a junior and james will be a solid back up. after that depends on upcomign recruits but obviously james would be next in line barring any setbacks.

I think he will definitely be battling for it. I would be very discouraged if he wasn't. I think Herman's offense in particular you have to have a guy in there that is very specifically suited to run the spread offense. Austen isn't that guy but he is our most talented qb so we have to take advantage of his abilities although he may not be a great fit for the system.
I think some people are forgetting that Capello could very well be our starting qb after Austen graduates.
To tell you the truth, in the preseason drills on CloneZone I wasn't exactly impressed with his arm strength--but perhaps he just was taking a little off to be sure of where he was throwing the ball, less familiar than Arnaud or Tiller with that particular drill (hittung the target that the coach calls).
"Hey! I'm building something here!"

Very doubtful. After Arnaud (or maybe while he is still here) will be Tiller. After that Capello will have his shot but I still doubt he starts. Barnett is going to be a very nice player for us and I think he starts as a RS soph. Of course all of this is speculative
dont know him, just know about him from researching recruits. after 2 years in the system I think he should have a good shot. also, getting the job as a rs soph will give our team a good chance to build around a 3 year qb.

I think it is very premature to just hand Tiller the starting spot after Austen leaves. His performances to date while they have been short have not been impressive at all.

Then what would you call AA's performance?
I think the chances of Capello starting over Tiller are about 1/100
