I disagree. I think this is a good 3-1 start. We had a LOT more opportunity to score had our offense been on the money.
Opportunity is a short way of saying you haven't done anything yet. Which, with exception to ARob and the line, that would be a perfect description of this offense/passing game.
I agree 100%! CPR should NOT take this game lightly. Not that they should take some game more lightly than others, but this one deserves the extra urgency.
Yeah, I'd say that's slightly optimistic. 5-3 conference record? We've only finished above .500 once in the Big 12, way back in 2000. I highly doubt that we'll duplicate that feat this season.
If ISU finishes 8-4 (5-3) this season, I will personally pay to bowl in the south end of Jack Trice Stadium*
*offer contingent upon winning the Powerball.
5-3 does sound too optimistic, but hey, whats the point in being pessimistic? I think it's possible, not probable, but possible.
Collegefootballnews.com had ISU at 3-1 at this point of the season and then goose eggs for the rest. However, these are the same folks who predicted that we would win 7 games last season. Let's hope that they are wrong. I would like to see ISU stay in every game. If that happens there is a good chance of getting those 3 or 4 wins....
I hardly consider beating NDSU, Kent and Army as exceeding expectations. I expect ISU to win those games. To exceed an expectation you must win a game that you didn't expect to win.
In my book, this weekend is a must win if we are going to be happy this season with the final product. Snyder will have his slow fellows loaded for bear. It is almost a road game for both, so a win would be huge for us. Weather reports?
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
ISU's record hasn't changed my expectations. In fact, they are on pace to meet it. As a result, I am not looking to change expectations or I am just setting myself up for disappointment. Any games over my own prediction are just icing on the cake. Just because they have won the games I thought they would, doesn't mean I increase my expectations. Now are my hopes growing that they will exceed them? Hell yes!
