Is 4-1 possible for Iowa State? Yes!

I think we can win this game. Momentum here opens the door for an upset of KU the following week. I may be crazy, but this is exciting times for Iowa State football. What do you think?

I agree in theory. But that is only if we can stop the needless turnovers. It may work with some of the teams we've won against, but it didn't work with Iowa, and it definitely won't work against even halfway decent Big 12 teams.

Edit: But yes. I want/need this win. It's been a long time since this guy went to the houston bowl as a freshman. I would like to be somewhere at least 60 degrees warmer than Iowa come January.

We have the better team so yes, we should win Saturday. I'm not too worried about the game. I don't think K-State has the offense to expose our defense.

However, I think Kansas will torch us. Not a big blow out but probably a 2-3 score loss. Our defense hasn't seen anything remotely close to what Todd Reesing and company will bring to the table. Not to mention the game is in Lawrence. Either way, 4-2 is a great start with a wounded Baylor team waiting for us in JTS. Hopefully the boys take care of business in Arrowhead first.

You're crazy. Actually, I would be disappointed if the coaches or the players let themselves play as poorly as they did against Iowa, and KSU is no Iowa this year. (side note: I'm not giving Iowa credit here, I'm just saying I think KSU is worse than them) 4-1 should be expected.

I dont feel that bad about iowa, iowa is a good team i think we could of won yes but at the same time ill give credit where it is due, obviously iowa is good they into penn state and won, and obviously i dont think k-state is iowa so the good guys will get it done

The team is getting better in every facet in my opinion. The O will show up one game (Passing) when we least expect it. Sooner than later would be nice i would agree. Just a guess that we'll see the #2 running back more often this next game.

If we can contain Banks, our special teams has a HUGE edge in this game. My only other fear in their RB. Hope we wrap up well, saturday.

If we don't win Saturday I will not only be bummed but angry. We are a better team than K St. We need to win the games that we are susposed to win because that's what contending teams do. So far we have done that and I hope that trend continues. This Iowa State football team, if they don't turnover the ball and they just stick to their game plan should beat this K St team by 2 touchdowns.

I don't know that Kansas torches us. Like you said we haven't seen an offense that is like them so we don't really know what our defense will do. Maybe our secondary is pretty decent. If we show up and play like we can, I don't see any reason we can't compete. We just need to a pardon my french here, play like the Hawkeyes did against PSU. We need to take what we are given. We need to take advantage of mistakes and not make them ourselves. One thing that I think is underated on this team is our punter in close games. In close games, a punter can make a world of difference as far as field position and I don't think we play anyone with as good as what we have. I am very optimistic for this season but it is a realistic optimism. I think we will lose a game we shouldn't but I think we have a chance to win games we are not supposed to. Kansas didn't gain alot from last year. Their key players were upperclassmen therefor their learning curve as far as just playing the game is not as steep. Our guys are young and inexperienced and I think as far as just playing, not schemes or anything like that, we have improved more than they have, therefor giving us a shot. Let's see what happens this weekend and then we will know a TON more.

I know we have a shot since I won't be down in K.C. for the game. I been to Arrowhead twice - FSU/ISU and Den/K.C. last year and both times my team lost so never again will I go to watch my team there unless it's a Big 12 Champ. game.
