ISU in the Kansas City Star
It is great to actually see something about them in the Star. I get up. I get my coffee, then I just want to read the news. Seeing this perked up my morning. Paul Rhoads at Iowa State is an Iowa thing - Kansas City Star -
Re: ISU in the Kansas City Star
Good article. Its just a good overall feeling knowing that your coach wants to be here.

I was glad to see that article this morning too, although 3 of the 5 yahoos at the star picked K-State to win the game... Homers...

Re: ISU in the Kansas City Star
Wow - great article. makes me wish I still lived in KC where there is a solid Cyclone fan base - unlike STL where it is constant ridicule.

I'm not a big fan of the Star but it is either the Star or the Examiner for my local news read and the Examiner really stinks.

The only teams they cover is 90% Mizzou and 10% Illini. Living here has made me hate Mizzou almost as much (maybe more at times) as Iowa.....seriously.

TOTALLY Agree
I live in St. Louie too and you are correct about the Post Dispatch... they are enamored by the Tiggers... -
Re: ISU in the Kansas City Star
That was a great article. I have to say I was amazed to learn Cecil Rhoads is 81. I never would have guessed that. He's always on the sidelines and is fun to talk to.

Re: ISU in the Kansas City Star
Great story. Reminds me of Paul's mother and her condition. That's very painful to hear again and I understand how tough a deal it is.

Re: ISU in the Kansas City Star
I liked the article, but I am ready for the day that every paper of the city we travel to does not have to do a "feel good" story. They will have to write a story about how good of program we have become and they are sick of ISU kicking ***!

Re: ISU in the Kansas City Star
The KC Star generally has better ISU stories than the Des Moines Register.

Rhoads is a hero in my book. I just hope he can slay some big dragons on his way.
