Granted AA isn't throwing a lot of pretty passes, bit it's not all on him. We don't have guys getting open. It looks to me like he's making the only play he can at times. It's not like he has 2 or 3 wide open guys every time and is just making bad passes. Oour skills players are all struggling right now.
I like Arnaud the guy. He just can't pass to save his life. I hope they don't do the same thing Mac used to do and stay loyal to a guy even though he is not pulling his weight. It does not seem like Tiller is any better. I think if we bring in a Juco QB that can play right away we could have a pretty good season next year.
Herman can't call a good game because he has not faith in Arnaud throwing a good pass. So right now we basically have to run the ball and while we run good the other team has if figured out by the 3rd quarter that we can't pass at all.
How about the coaches coach him up and make him better.
Then you must not be serious!!need a D1 qb and AA is not
There are many other facets of the game of football to look at, that is what makes the game so great. There are other areas of the team that are not performing at the level needed to win.
AA doesn't look the greatest out there so far this season, but last year there were quite a few games where he was electric at QB. Losses still mounted due to deficiencies elsewhere. Even if AA were playing above average, we'd still be losing games coming up this season.
AA is a decent QB and he can throw the ball. I think the blame is about 50/50 between him and the receivers. I know we all want results right now but this is the guys third system in four years. His mechanics have gone to crap because he over thinks every play. Once the receivers start running decent routes and getting some separation and AA gets comfortable I think this board will do a 180 on AA.
Would you throw the ball to Johnson and Darks with the number of balls they've dropped this year? Jake and Hamilton have caught most everything thrown to them. For example, yesterday on the 4th down play in the last drive, would Darks have made the catch that Hamilton made? I think not.
Agree. The reason Johnson and Darks don't have more catches is because of all the drops they have had. I don't see how throwing more to them would result in more catches. It would just result in more drops.
Give me a break.....R u kidding me, no one has seen Tiller start a game amd play completly with the 1's in a whole game and u say bring in a Juco. Maybe you give him a chance in practice with the 1's all week and then the game and see if he can play.
None of you know anything about what he can or can not do. he played a hell of a spring game and had a great fall and have never been given the chance to Play with the 1's.
If you look back at some of the games that he did get a chance to play a lot of his drives where killed by penalties or backs fumbling the ball!!
So You are suggesting that you lose Tiller and AA on your team for a Juco that you know nothing about or can run the O.
You have really lost your mind!!!!
Like it or not, AA is your starting QB until he grads. Might as well lend your support rather than bring him down. He does ALOT of good things and no one is perfect.
I hate comments like this.
So he is the "chosen one" no matter what his performance is on the field?
So we are not going to attempt to recruit upgraded talent at the QB position?
So no one currently on the roster could improve and pass him by?
I certainly hope our coaches don't think like this. All of this "he is the team leader" talk is BS as well. If that was so damned important, why don't we let the players just vote amongst themselves for starting spots.
I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.
His passing skills seem a lot better when going down field when his feet are planted properly compared to when he's throwing on the run or throwing to the sidelines. We went downfield much more this game than any of the previous 4.
And for our many of our players repeatedly falling down, it appears that our cletes are not long enough. This seemed to be the case as much for the secondary as our receivers.
I've never seen so many people slip and fall in a single game.
Walking on water is easy. Just do it in December when it's frozen.
