Re: KU this week
The KU run defense is pretty good. KU struggles against really good passing teams. The defense finally came around in the second half of their last game. If they can continue to play like that they could have a pretty good year. My only disappointment with the offense is actually Reesing. I was worried about our O line because they are so young but they have looked good. Reesing took 5 sacks last game and 4 of them were on him. He had time and open receivers and he scrambled around until he got sacked. I think he is having trouble seeing over the line.
I think KU is due for a break-out game, there seems to be potential but they just haven't put things together yet. Iowa State hasn't played a team with a good offense yet so it will be interesting to see how your D does because so far they have played pretty good. Hopefully KU will not take ISU for granted after what happened in the first half of last years game. This is Big 12 football and any team is capable of beating another (unless it is a North team playing the better South teams) so I expect the Cyclone's best shot.

Re: KU this week
Is it possible that half of the team will be out due to injuries or arrests with their never ending fueding with the basketball team?
Cyclone
Iowa State became the Cyclones after they leveled Northwestern in 1895. As the Chicago Tribune (9/29/1895) noted:
'Struck by a Cyclone
It Comes from Iowa and Devastates Evanston Town' -
Re: KU this week
KU game simply put... possible, not probable (if we continue the way we are playing)

Do you mean that because we are iowa state we have zero chance of winning this game?
You could be right, I smell a blow out in Lawrence. Without A-Rob and with AA throwing the ball poorly it could get real ugly- real quick...
I went down to the Walden game which was 41-0, and it was homecoming and the crowd just kept wanting more scores out of the jayhawks. And of course Glen Mason obliged them!!!!!

Odds are long but stranger things have happened. Normally I agree, but Kansas has had trouble defending the blitz this year. Southern Miss brought LBers constantly and ended up with 5 sacks on Reesing. Wally needs to throw every pressure package that he has in his playbook at KU to take advantage of the OL blocking issues.

Re: KU this week
My gut tells me it will not happen but nothing would make me happier than for the Clones to knock off the Gayhawks in their own house. ISU would be very easy for KU to overlook. If the Clones can get out to an early lead, who knows...

Re: KU this week
If we keep it under 35pts.....I will be shocked. KU is primed for a break-out game......and of course it will be against us. We have no chance in this game without ARob as well.
Go Clones though!

Re: KU this week
I smell a blowout too; and I smell a Hawkeye win. A double whammy this weekend.
I can't believe anyone would worry about attendance for Baylor of all things. Who cares? I would much rather see a win and 10k in the stands than a loss and 50k in the stands. ISU; especially under Macarney is a bunch of wimps. Go out and win boys! Remember when Maccareny was coach half the team would stand on the sidelines waving around those stupid towels. Man; they were so worried about the crowd no wonder they lost so many games.

Re: KU this week
I was in Lawrence this weekend after the KSU game. All I heard from the KU fans is how bad there going to beat us and how we have no chance. * Also on another note, Lawrence's nightlife is kind of weak compared to Ames, there is probably more coffee shops then bars.

Re: KU this week
I guess I am just an optimist, I never say we can't win. I have seen quite a few games where we shouldn't have been in the game, but stayed close and even won. Stay positive folks, and cheer loud. Stranger things have happened! Go Clones! -

how bout get out to a late lead? -

Re: KU this week
This game is going to be ugly ugly ugly imo. I think we get drilled by 3 td's or more.
