No bowl game in 2009? Think again!
Amazing... “I was at (the pep rally) Friday night, and it made me feel like I was at a bowl game,” said Pollard. Big 12 football: Pollard says K.C. trip felt like a bowl game | DesMoinesRegister.com | The Des Moines Register Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good. Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better. Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step. My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all. -

If Dan McCarney or dumb *** Bruce Vandevelde had said this you would be jumping off the walls at what a great decison it was to play in KC.
Did you grab this from your time over at HN.com?

I tell you what, I have been a huge Pollard supporter over the last few years, even if some of his decisions have been iffy... But I think this whole series with K-State was very shortsighted...

The best way to avoid the classic Dr. Hibbard (his HR moniker) drive-by is to just put him on ignore.

I've never been to one myself, but I sure felt like the KC game was about as close as it gets.
What's your point?

Your bowl game tally doesn't add up.
We may never go to a bowl again in my lifetime as long as we stay in the Big 12. and that would be about another 40 years.
We need to ditch two the things. The MacCarney malaise....I want some technical fouls and some watercoolers and helmets getting thrown. Somebody needs to get PO'ed like the care. Show me you care.
2nd. We need new uniforms. We must purge ourselves of the Chizik influence. Bring back the whirling bird, but on a gold helmet with the same design as the San Francisco 49ers. The 49er uniform is the best freaking look in the NFL, and I can't believe we have not shared this with them yet. Hire me Jamie for marketing.

Seriously though, I want to see Paul Rhodes throw something at a referee the next offensive holding call we get.

I miss Larry. That has gotta rank in the top 10 of dumbest things a coach can do. No sarcasm.

So all powerful MontyBurns, how was this McCarney figure in the 90s? How about the end of his career? How about every crucial game of his career? How has Vandevelde's lack of foresight (otherwise known as myopia) helped us?
Tough questions to answer huh?

You haven't seen nothing yet. Wait until we play in College Station. I am predicting about 4 or 5 very opportune holding penalties against us. Maybe even an offensive pass interference call or unsportsmanlike when one of our guys claps his hands after a play.
I miss Larry.

Tough questions to answer huh? Not at all hard to answer. Our major sports programs have gotten steadily worse since Pollard arrived -- his results speak for themselves.
