    Re: DEFENSE

We have been the worst defense in the Big 12 by far for years. Why would you suddenly expect a different D with the same players from last year?

Our coaches had nothing to do with being bad.

We blitzed, they picked it up and tore us apart.

We didnt blitz they picked us apart.

They snuck in some runs which we didn't allow anything too huge.

True we either need to get bigger d lineman that will make the oline have to double team. you can blitz a corner, you just slide a saftey over to cover. if you blitz a corner right the offense will not see it coming so the d coverage doesnt have to be perfect.

Name one bowl game ISU has made in the last 20 years without a Defensive lineman who played at least some time in the NFL.

    Re: DEFENSE

We get zero pass rush and we played against one of the better college QB's in his house. I'm not surprised at all they scored 41.

This isn't Army, Kent State, or Iowa anymore. This was the first team we've played who is a threat in the passing game.

I would like to trade our 18 WRs we have for 1 good lineman.

Yes you can but if a RB is back there he can pick it up late. If there isnt a RB there, we need the CB in coverage, since our LBs are not great at coverage.

Exactly. Facing the No. 6 offense in the nation, a quarterback and two wide receivers who know the offense and how to read a defense, virtually no pass rush and you are going to give up a bunch. The D has had its moments. Wally will learn from this and come up with a plan.

    Re: DEFENSE

Jesse Smith was exploited way too many times by one of there stud recievers, but it could have been worse. If the offense hadn't of shown up I would probably be ******** too.

Don't get me wrong, I love how Jesse Smith plays, and how hard he works, but he can't cover a receiver one lick. Our lb's got owned today
