I agree with everything you say here except that he was lucky to even get the pass off. A Big 12 quarterback should be able to get that pass off and he did.

Biggest thing I noticed today - no turnovers. Herman's offense is starting to show up and it looks like it's matching the pre-season hype.

I had ABSOLUTELY NO expectation that we'd even be close, let alone have a chance to win it. That being said, I'm not bothered by the loss. We got close, but fell short. Since when has that not been the case? That's what teams at the bottom of conferences and bad teams do. Not all of them are as futile as the Lions, sometimes they get close. But they don't pull it off. That's where we are.

Last week hurt FAR more than this week. This week we got beat... last week was crap.

I don't believe we'll see this same offense again this season, but who knows. They did a nice job, and have responded to adversity and tough situations more than I have ever seen an Iowa State team do, making charges and comebacks.

Oh well, here's to next week and to already having won more games than last year...

I'm just watching the last series back on my DVR....on the 1st and 10 play of the last set of downs, when Arnaud tried to hit Hamilton in the endzone, he had Darks WIDE OPEN for a TD. If anyone has the game taped, go back and look at that play, Darks cleared the Linebacker and he was alone for a walk-in TD, but Austin never took his eyes off of Hamilton. I'm not pinning the loss on Austin, because he played one hell of a game, but man, he needs to look at his other reads.

So I was thinking about this right after the game today. If we would have made that 2 point conversion to make it a 3 point game, would you guys have kicked the FG when we were 4th and 9 from the 31 yard line? I know Mahoney struggled today but he has made the long FG's and the wind was at our backs. I think that would have been an interesting dilemma.

Hey folks...anyone thinking Mahoney screwed us think about this:

1.) First missed xtra pt was countered by KU ->>>>even
2.) 2nd missed xtra pt was countered by a successful 2pt conversion->>>>even
3.) Missed FG attempt was countered by a KU turnover when they were in scoring position ->>>>even

Point being KU left pts on the field too.

Good effort...entertaining game. Let's crush Baylor next week!

There is no reason we can't be competitive in these games as well. Don't tunnel vision yourself to the other 3 games.

We needed to do a run play on 1st down rather than take a shot. That killed that drive. We also didn't need to score too soon which we would have done and then was KU go down and win it afterwards.

Hopefully, they see that on the game film and learn...
