why didnt darks dive ah la jake williams style?
i feel either williams or hamilton would have come up with that ball
Good job Cyclones! The players played hard and should be congratulated for playing with the jarhawks. And although losing is never easy, I see positives from this game. It is good to see the offense get untracked and to see some improvement there. I'm encouraged to see the development of the passing game and the stepping up of several receivers and AA. We had a chance to win right to the end. Kansas has a good offense so I think the defense did what they could...Ku made some good plays. Unbelievable effort by ARob, for an injured player. Got to keep up the intensity and spread the offense around with the passing game, esp if he can't go full speed. I was surprised to even see ARob in this game. The hard work is paying off and will pay off with some W's sooner or later. Now let's go get Baylor!
I haven't read all of this thread, but all I know is that this is was a hard fought game and this team is going to win some more games this year. It seemed like the offense finally "clicked" today.
I watched the entire game today at home - alone - yelling at the t.v. with the dog staring at me as usual......so here are my thoughts:
-Very entertaining game - after all, I was yelling at the t.v. (both positive & negative, which is a good sign :).
-Very proud of how AA, Arob and the offense played - those guys played well enough to win; just happened to play another really good offensive team. Arnaud played a great game and he deserves a lot of credit for this game even being close. Arob was a warrior and I flat out love that guy!
-The defense really struggled, but I think they can learn a lot from this game. KU has a really good offense and I have to admit that I REALLY LIKE MEIER AND REESING....MEIER reminds me of Austin Flynn, but even better - he's got that indescribable toughness and durability.
-Kicking game....Grant Mahoney is a good kicker.....let's leave it at that and move on for once!! I was glad to see him turn it around after an awful start to the game.
-Coaching....great job by Herman today and overall, I was very pleased with the descipline our team showed on the road. Defense was just outmatched and didn't come up with enough plays against KU's passing attack.
-Next Week.......GO CYCLONES - BEAT BAYLOR!!! Instead of yelling at the T.V., I'll be yelling in person!! I'M SICK OF LOSING - WE WILL WIN THIS GAME!! REFUSE TO LOSE!!
Yeah, we lost. But this was a game nobody expected us to even be in, and we were a foot or two away from winning it.
The offense has finally come alive, and now we look like the team we thought we would be (good offense, bad defense). And judging by how the rest of the Big XII played today, I am back to believing we have a shot at a bowl again.
If the offense plays anything like they did against KU, we should beat Baylor by a couple of scores next week. Nebraska didn't look all that impressive against Mizzou, but their defense is pretty damn good. A&M isn't that good, and this one will probably be another shootout, but I like our chances down there. OSU looked bad against A&M. That game was the one I thought we were least likely to win this season (I was very, very high on OSU this season), but now an upset looks possible. I didn't see what happened with CU/UT, but Hawkins is still a terrible coach and I still think we beat the Buffs. And Mizzou didn't look very good against NU, so there is always a chance there.
We have a chance in every game left on the schedule, which is a really nice thing to be able to say after the past couple years. I'd say two of those are "likely wins" (BU and CU), so if we take care of business, all it would take is one out of the other four and we're going bowling.
