Dont feel that bad about our defense...

I know they gave up a ton of yards and points but I think they played okay today. We all know that we could use a few more athletes, but as far as being in the right position to make a play and tackling, this is a much improved defense. I am thrilled this is the last time we have to face the reesing - mier duo. Seems like they have been torching us since the 80s!

Defense sucked today. No excuses. At least we can tackle this year.. last year was like Junior High tackling.

I just expected so much more out of Ash's secondary. That cut from the safety across in front of the touchdown for Kansas was laughable and our safeties are just not talented right now at all. Are these guys in the secondary just not able to be coached to average?

No amount of coaching by Ash can keep them from being exploited. Until we have a pass rush, they're screwed.

Exactly. Gotta get pressure up front.

Sorry, but it wasn't just lack of a pass rush. The secondary is making stupid decisions and very bad angles at times. They are not turning their head to play for the ball and just are lacking the talent needed at the position.

The two long TDs were bad but a secondary cannot be expected to cover for more than 5 seconds. We need pressure. I honestly think our secondary is alright. The problem is the opposing team has so much time to find an opening.

I think the defense as a whole as gotten better.
I know its hard to believe after today but think about it.
If our guys were as lethargic and tackled as poorly as they did in the first 2 weeks we'd have given up 60+ points today.
Kansas has a pretty good offense.

Kansas has a great offense, but our safeties were exploited by a poor Kansas State team also.

Are you high?
We are terrible. I don't know why through so many decades and coaches, we cannot get smart dbacks. And then coaches put Jesse Smith in a position where he is expected to cover Meier. Dumb.
There must be hundreds of tall, talented, smart kids playing FCS/Div 1a/or even Div.2 who could serve better in our backfields. Even though they get saddled with a zone scheme, you gotta get your arss in there and cover the guy coming at you, you gotta fight through a pick, etc...
I feel sorry for d linemen. They tried and got tired.
The old catch 22...Paul Rhoads wants his own players, but he will not be able to recruit them without some wins and promise of a better future. He is going to have to coach up some wins here.

The wins will come. I still stand behind my prediction from preseason at 5-7. We may even shock someone for a bowl game with a 6th outside of beating Colorado and Baylor yet

Didn't play great today but KUs offense is awesome. They run the spread like I hope we will at some point.

As for last week, it was really only 2-3 plays that were not very good against K-State...Offensive miscues there were a bigger issue.

I don't think he was calling him out. He was saying the coaches are putting him in a position in which he will not be successful.

No, I'm not high. I was talking from a tackling and positioning standpoint. Also, late in the game when we needed to get a stop to give the offense a chance, they found a way to get off the field. That never happened last year.
