Please don't hoot and holler and slap hands and act all cocky if you hit someone and stop them or tackle them after they get a first down. It makes you look bad.
I'm not gonna mention too many names here today but we have a DB who did that a couple times today after KU got a first down. That annoys the heck out of me especially when it wasn't even a good stop.
If you have the tackling ability (not shutdown coverage) of Deion Sanders, don't act like a stud when you stop someone when they just moved the chains after a 17yd gain. Get back to your defensive group and talk about coverage and try and stop them.

. But i agree, I saw the same thing 3 or 4 times. One of them was even when he got a penalty.

Yeah, I am very sure we are talking about the same player/penalty. He does it a lot and it really makes me wonder why?

Yeah. I still won't name anyone but I've never enjoyed watching him. To many personal fouls on his part.

He gets beat/frustrated/penalized/cocky a lot.
I also see him wave his arms a lot in the no-completion mode when he got beat bad and the ball was just barely over thrown to a wide receiver.

But a lot of guys do this...I just don't get it. It would be like in basketball if you are going up for a dunk but get slapped hard, then the guy makes his two free throws and you are still cocky after that. Just don't get it.

Yeah I can understand a little bit of it then but not if a team is moving the ball across the field pretty easily and have guys catching the ball when you are 5+ yards away and they are getting first downs on a regular basis.
But a big sweet, helmet fly off hit is cool. Not if you do the Deion Sanders olay' push tackle.

I agree about celebrating on first down plays, BUT I really want my defense to play with a lot of excitement.

i agree, but their thing is coverage and tackling. so yeah i would love it they did their thing. until then i will critique the fact that they are not doing their thing.
