Iowa vs ISU last 2 games
Iowa has won their last two games by a combined 5 points.
If ISU would have won their last two games (lost by 6 points) they would be 5-1.
jeesh, so close. Iowa hasn't played any tougher of opponents, yet their fans are talking about winning a national title. -
Re: Iowa vs ISU last 2 games
What? Ya, we played Kansas but who is to say they are better than Michigan. Iowa has played UNI, who is just crushing their conference, Penn ST. who is at least a decent team, and Michigan who is young but is solid. We played Kansas. Judging by how we ran the ball on Kansas, Michigan would beat them. Iowa has played some pretty tough teams. Tougher than what we have played.
I'm on Twitter too: Tre4ISU
Or so I have read. -

I don't think they're talking any bigger than Florida, Texas, Bama, Cincinnatti, Boise St, South Florida, Kansas or TCU. If you're undefeated you have a chance at the title - plain and simple. As long as Iowa has that zero in the loss column they're going to be talking about a BCS bowl.

And a 3 pt win over Ark St. was reason for concern... some cyclone fans on here would say isu is a terrible football team if we'd only beat army by 3

Would you rather look "good" and be 0-2 the last two weeks or be 2-0 no matter how you got there? Check the stats from the Wisky/OSu game yesterday.....who was the "better" team and which one won?

Tell me you are just kidding with this ridiculous statement. How do you compare our 3 wins(Kent State, North Dakota St, and Army) with any of the wins that Iowa has. Keeping in mind that the have beat Arizona, Penn State at home, Michigan, us by 32 points, and the number 2 or 3 ranked UNI Panthers. It's Clone fans like you that give the rest of us a bad name.

Re: Iowa vs ISU last 2 games
I cant rip on Iowa this year. Whether or not the competition is the same, they are finding ways to win. Thats what winners do. We just have to smack em in the mouth next year and continue to roll on through the season like they did.

jeesh, so close. Iowa hasn't played any tougher of opponents, yet their fans are talking about winning a national title. No, they're not. Most Hawk fans realize that this team has problems that could turn out to handcuff them later in the year. Of course, you could always go back to the argument that this years team is winning the games that would have been losses last year.
National title talk? Please - that road runs through Gainesville, Birmingham, and Austin.

National title talk? Please - that road runs through Gainesville, Birmingham, and Austin. Believe it or not, it could realistically happen. It seems when good teams have good years, they seem to catch every single break, and Iowa is doing that this year. No matter how good your defense is, it involves a little luck to force 6 TO against ISU, 5 TO against Mich, 2 blocked kicks vs. UNI, and the blocked punt @ PS. There is not a game left I don't think Iowa can't win, as much as I don't wish to believe it.

Re: Iowa vs ISU last 2 games
Good teams win close games, bad teams lose them. Not saying that Iowa is going to win a N.T. because I don't think they are that good. But they are a good team which keeps finding ways to win. Who cares what their fans think, a good perportion of them are delusional anyways.
Lets concentrate on keep getting better, hope our team keeps on improving beat Baylor this weekend which would be a great win and giving PR the most 1st year wins compared to his last two predecessors.
Two favorite teams, the Cyclones, and whoever is playing the Hawkeyes! -

National title talk? Please - that road runs through Gainesville, Birmingham, and Austin. The rational ones are not.
But I keep hearing from the unrational ones. Im not lying when I say I hear about it Daily. How Iowa will be undefeated going into the OSU game... end their season at 11-1 or 12-0 and "you never know, iowa could beat florida because of our D"
I hear it a lot, but I dont think all hawk fans think that way- nor do i believe iowa is NC caliber

There is not a game left I don't think Iowa can't win, as much as I don't wish to believe it. Iowa is ahead of where they were last year as far as turnover margin is concerned, and the 2008 version weren't slouches when it comes to taking the ball over. Does luck have something to do with it? Yeah, probably. But it wasn't Clayborns fault that Penn State left a receiver back there to try to block him, and if you watch that play, Clayborn is the only guy going after the kick, everyone else is running downfield. Can't really call that luck.
The Michigan game and ISU game were similar in the respect that it seemed like Iowa was willing to give up the run and dare the opposing QB to beat them. The outcome was the same, with both QB's getting benched, but at least Arnaud wasn't berated on the sideline in front of a national TV audience like Forcier was. Kind of a dick move by Rodriguez.
As far as the national title hopes goes, it's very easy to see the same thing happening to Iowa that happened to Auburn in 2004.
